I think a cheap cotton tilley or sniper style hat with the compac Logo on it would be nice.  A 23 after the logo would be icing on the cake.

ill see what jack can do and post our options.

i'm visualizing a caricature of a compac (undisclosed model) with a cockpit full of characters.

1 has a great big smile on his face laughing jovially, 1 is offering cheese cake, another is gulping down a PBR, 2 are sitting under a colorful umbrella, 2 are sitting on the forward deck

drinking lime bites, 1 is hanging over the transom, while another is dangling from the bow rail along with a lawn chair.

but then, i see a lot of weird stuff when i close my eyes.

is it still a jimmy buffett theme for the dinner at the galley?

if so, are we having cheese burgers in this paradise, or will the shrimp begin to boil?

i know it's early, just thought i'd throw it out there and see what others are thinking.

heres something new. apparently someone built a resteraunt (the fish shack---i think) over by the southshore boat ramp. there is a protected cove just east of it where boats could be anchored. i dont know if they built a dock for resteraunt guests or not. sarah and i will check it out next time we go for a bike ride. this could be called "sailing for the fish". ill keep you posted. and no carl  she says it will be sub sandwiches, salad, sides and desert followed by drinks and some stand up comic we got cheap last year.

Oh man I forgot about that cheesy stand-up guy we rented last year.  What was his name again? Marty Gleckner if I remember right.  He was worth every penny we paid him.

looks like we are going to have 26 sailors and 16 boats at this years CLR. it should be the best ever! any others thinking about joining us---you still have plenty of time and are more than welcome.

Made my reservation for marina space today.  Arrive on Monday hopefully around noon.  We have people in for a conference thru middle of Sunday so I will not be able to pull Off The Wind until Sunday afternoon, leaving very early on Monday.  Staying through Friday early afternoon.  Wife has decided that it sounds like way too much sailing, so I am a bachelor for the week.  Do I understand correctly that there is a launch ramp next to the marina?  Planning on sleeping on board too.  I am really looking forward to the week.  Any other words of wisdom for my initial ComPac sailing event?    Al

You may forget some things for this trip...I always do. If you happen to forget your sense of humor, don't worry...we have plenty to spare!!!
If I bring my 23, I'll be doing what you are- staying aboard solo...my wife doesn't like to sail, let alone travel all this way to hang out with a crazy bunch of Compac-o-nauts!!!

well i suppose she knows best but i really dont think it is too much sailing (what is too much sailing?). maybe too much partying. that we do. sleeping aboard works well. the building with showers , kitchen etc is just a short walk away and the wheelhouse resteraunt is pretty close as well. i wish she would change her mind but i have been married long enough to know that "the lady is never wrong".
