Reminds me of a friends name for his O'Day Daysailer: IFIS. It floats, it sails. We have a blast together. Both Bobs, both leftys, both born on the same day and year. Yup, folks: there's 2 of me!

got a call last night from a clr sailor, jack f. jack informed me that his wife has an embroidlery business and can make some cool hats for the upcoming clr. he is going to e mail some design ideas and i will in turn post them here. i do want to get an idea of how many we might need. she is going to do them at cost (10 dollars or so). after i post the designs, let me know if you are interested and which design you prefer. i forgot to ask if they all need to be alike ( i would think so)

How about a drawing of a Com-Pac 19 bowsprit with a lawn chair dangling from it?   Or a 6' 5" guy dragging through the water holding on to the rail of a recently launched boat?  A guy hanging backwards over his transom while sailing?  Hehehe!

im thinking that carl and i should leave our wives buy a suitable boat and begin a new life as pirates of the Caribbean . apologies to the producers of the movie franchise.  and carl has three outboards too

here's the trophy plan.  1st place CLR cup (this will be a travelling trophy much like the america's cup) it has an easily removable brass plate on which the winner needs to have his name or boat name engraved with the year. the winner takes the trophy home with him (to impress family and friends) and he brings it back the following year so it can be awarded to the new winner. if he cant make the clr 2016 then he can send it to me. we will also have a trophy for 2nd place in the race (not a travelling trophy). there will be an "Axle Grease" award for the sailor who travelled the farthest. also there will be a "prettiest boat" award, the result of a secret ballot among attendees. i am also considering a "dragging anchor" award for last place in the race (hey its all in fun). the trophies are of questionable "taste" having been given at past carshows, golf tournments and for exceptional achievement in bowling. they have all be resurrected to the high status of "sailing trophies" through the majic of internet shopping. in other words they are "awe inspiring". as someone wiser than me once said "you gets what you pays for".

This years CLR is shaping up to be a blast! Should I bring my trophy wife? Yeah, I wish.

Trophy wife...just for the record you can't throw the race just to get rid of her for  a year!!

Bob23

Thanks, Matt. You ruined my plans!!!!
