I'm looking into this. We may well get slips at the old place and eat at the Tiki bar at Captains Inn. I'll try to get up there tomorrow to firm things up. From here looks like we may need 3 slips so far: Myself, Allen (aka Mr. Shiney Anchor) and Marty!
What say ye, merry sailors??

Southwinds might have the better amenities, not sure what the Captain's Inn has. Bob Will have to look into it.

I will but I think you are right. I don't remember showers at Captains Inn. But we can migrate from one place to another. The advantage of Captains Inn Tiki Bar (herein known as CITB) is the better food and stronger drinks. Not that I have personal knowledge, mind you! ;)
If I wasn't going on the inaugural sail today, I'd stop up today. Maybe afterwards....stay tuned for more!!!

Bob,

Big wind on Barnegat bay today.  I did not make it out of kettle creek.

I did take my admiral (read as "wife") Ellen down to Forked River earlier this morning.  We may taxi to bay harbor motor lodge on rt 9, after dinner and drinks that Friday.  We think our 19 is going to be too small for more than 1 overnight...and that would be Saturday at Tices.

I went on this years inaugural sail aboard the intrepid sailing yacht "Koinoina". 20 knots steady wind, gusting to 25. Single reef in the main and 1/3 headsail out. Not really too bad if...I'd remembered to tie off all the reefing lines! Doing it while under sail in those conditions wasn't fun. And problems with the outboards tilt mechanism made for more adventures.
FB: Not a bad idea although a few years ago Brad and Lily Cutter stayed aboard their 19 just fine. I guess it depends: Some of these Admirals are kinda picky. My own Admiral prefers to do her admiraling from her landlocked home.
Looking forward to this epic event. I should have more info this week on exactly where we'll eat, drink, dock, stagger....Stay tuned!!!
For the cause, just because I can....Bob23

We still have the galley box installed.  It's useful for daysailing, but it takes up a lot a sleeping space.  We constantly discuss the pros/cons of it.  The bbb will be the test...

All the "admiral" comments crack me up.
Dreaming of a SunCat
A Horizon Cat would be great too.

Ok not sure what the accommodations are gunna be like other than a CP16 at Tice's so might just be myself. No way I'm gunna talk Susan into staying aboard that little boat for more than a single overnight. So let's think this, uh 2 - 1=1. Yup that makes it 1 for the head count.

Meanwhile haven't even seen our boats for almost three weeks. Been lost camping on Ocracoke Island. Golly we love that place! Did get out sailing some on a Pearson 26. Nice boat but remember why sailing the Pamlico is tricky, way too many shoal areas. Missed our home port waters for sailing but my what beaches down there to simply claim as your own without a person in sight.

Thanks Kev, will check it out. Susan is still only a possible as we will out of town for events the previous two weekends and clearly will be around for CBMSG 2.0 the following weekend, which is still a good drive for us. She's been mumbling about too much fun! Hmmm....nice lyrics for a tune me thinks.  :)

Been getting Dorothea out? I'm afraid both of our boats have been ignored for most of June. That's gunna change this coming Monday.

Rick: Commander Cody already did the song: "Too much fun- that's news to me. Too much fun-there must be..a whole lotta things that I never done, but I ain't never had too much fun!"
Please convince her to come up. Best pizza is in NJ!

Yup, thus the reference! We are playing tonight and might just have to dust off a cover of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen!

Will work on Susan but truly this summer has been a whole lotta things that we have done and so far ain't had too much fun! I already responded about the brewery thing here on the CBMSG thread but since ya brought it up, the pizza scene here is pretty good too! You are gunna have to steer me/us to a good place for a pie up there. Pizza and Beer, it is a food group!

I'm still lurking in the shadows and will most likely be a game time decision. It'll come down to the weather and winds. I have concerns about getting SV Barnacle due north 25 miles. After a month of sailing her, I've come to the conclusion that many have stated before, CPs can't point into the wind for ????????. I don't feel like motoring 25miles at 4mph either. If nothing else, I'll be at the dinner on Friday night.

Must admit, did assume there is a ramp where everyone is keeping their boats? One that could be used by visitors? There is no way Imma gunna sail a CP16 25 miles just to get there. Heck they point into the wind just fine on a trailer!
