Gents,
I have been procrastinating on sending this message with hopes for a break but I sadly will have to miss out on this BBB.   Nothing serious but our company's business is skyrocketing and the workday is between 10 o 12 hours leaving little time to get the Madame ready to sail.  But alas, this is the sprint to the finish line as retirement looms in the next few months.
So I will certainly miss all of you and the friendship we share and I look forward to the next BBB.

Have a great time,
  Allen

Allen,

Will miss seeing you and Madame.  I guess we need to start tossing dates for the BBB mark 2.

For everyone who may not be familiar with Allen, let me interpret his message: "My anchor is not as shiny as it should be therefore I am embarrassed to show it in public".  Is that about right, Allen??
There will be a 2018 version 2.0 BBB sometime later this summer...so get out your jewelers rouge and start polishing!! We will miss you!!

Marty,

Helmet need depends on how good I reef, but the boom gallows at least keep the boom higher than nose break zone.

Still no word from a mechanic so it's not looking good but I'll definitely drive up for dinner on Friday evening if boatless. To make amends, does anyone want a charcoal grill for their boat? It's one that claps onto a rail. Free to good home.

I hate to say it but this event is horribly close to the 'cancel/postpone' state. As for me, boat is in but not set up yet, nor shakedown cruise attempted. Maybe just have a Spring Meetup for dinner at the Tiki Bar on Friday? Just saying. :(

Kevin,

I was thinking the same.  Any weather guess for sat?

Sat weather is 60% rain, with afternoon Thunder showers.

I think I will play work hooky on Friday, and launch Picnic Cat at SouthWinds early Fri (noonish?) and probably pull out in time for Tiki bar.

My plan as it stands now....Dinner Friday Night with some sailing on Saturday(maybe anchor for lunch). Not planning on anchoring out overnight at this point, boat just not ready yet and no time. :(

I'm reluctantly inclined to agree with the above posts by Kev and Brian. Dinner at the Tiki Bar at the Captains Inn, Forked River, NJ...I'll call to make reservations for a table. 6:30 ok?
I've been caught in the middle of lightening on a sailboat in the past...not fun and while I didn't get struck and die, it scared the shit out of me...funny that I'm still so full of it!! And although the boat is in the water, I'm not 100% ready either.
I'll text or PM everyone here so there's no confusion. I hope this change doesn't interfere with plans that have been made but this is a weather dependant event.
For the cause...cause I can,

Sounds good Bob.  I will still launch at Southwinds ramp on Friday.  And plan to be at Captain's inn tiki bar at 6:30-ish.  I am solo as Ellen is in Puerto Rico on FEMA deployment.

Still hope to have the renaming ceremony after Tiki Bar.  All traces of former name has been eliminated.  No reference to new name will be made until proper respect is paid to Neptune.

I will keep Boat in overnight, and Sat morning decide if weather will allow morning sail.

All options open, all is good.

Regards,
Brian

Kevin- renaming ceremony is a must have.  I did not do it for an angry boston whaler harpoon 5.2 named whistling wind.  We changed it to Waterford and I managed to rip the rudder off during a July 3rd sail in Kettle creek,  self Bailers became water fountains, and finally developed a brain callous from multiple boom head bangs.

That boat hated me.

Only boat I did not do ceremony for.
Saturday weather is looking better...

Bash news!! Tiki bar doesn't do reservations so I'll attempt to get there a bit early and secure a table using a completely made up story. Looking forward to this epic event!!
Headcount as far as I can tell is 8:
Us, Kev and Lesa, Marty (Mr. Rigging himself), Brian, Ryan...and I ain't lyin'...and Dennis!

I'll be there tonight and can show a bit early as I'll be in Waretown acquiring a AC unit from a friend. Maiden sail was a success yesterday! Gotta say I love wheel steering and that rudder doesn't move an inch when I let go. Last chance for a free charcoal grill!
