Well, Heave:  I'm not looking for mindless followers...of course you can keep your Compacs and anything that is needed to maintain, trailer and sail them.
Now on to rum:
Gosslings, Pussers, Kraken and Newfy's Screetch are my choices.

Sheez, I go away for a few days to put No Mas to sleep for the winter and I find in my absence my cult reference has stirred up some interesting dialogue! Now i am certain this is a cult. Well Bob, I found an altar to PBR in the men's head at an oyster bar across from our boat. Will send photo.

Hung garlic all around her, ya never know!

PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN! THE GREAT AND TERRIBLE BOB23 HAS SPOKEN!!!!

Bob, my son, stop threatening the flock, and come sit, here on my right side.  Bwaahahaha!  Did you bring your usual offering of rum & PBR?

Aboard my vessel bringing PBR aboard may be a flogging offense.

Hmmm...this is more serious than I thought. It does motivate me to try and clear our calendar for the Mid-winter dinner, kinda thinking it will be 'last supperish'! I am expecting to bring a couple fish and maybe a loaf of bread, figured i could stretch it to feed everyone. Maybe even some water walking races! I do think that will wish to turn water into PBR, jus sayin!

That is because PBR is already pretty much WATER!!!  Bad flavored water that gives you Montezuma's revenge.

So for those who may have been a little amazed by the discussion, we do wish to remind all that we are hoping to lure Chesapeake Bay Compac owners to come out and gather while our kids are asleep. Some where in this thread are the particulars. Clearly there will be an interesting gathering! Stories will be told.

Alright you PBR bashing thread thieves!!!! I'm gonna be there come hell or high water.
I see the location. And I see the date. But am I missing the time? Lunch or dinner?

Yup. it'll be lunch or dinner! Good question Bob23, not sure we have all weighed in and still hoping to lure others. Either would work, though if we are hoping to travel afterwards then lunch works well. Bout 2 1/2 for us one way. Got some thoughts?

We will have to check with the Dockside calendar after the first of the year to be sure that they are open for lunch. Lunch was a thought but may have to be dinner, depending on dockside.

From what I see right now they are open for lunch/brunch at 12:00pm.  It may be easier to do lunch because if people are driving they have plenty of time and light to get home.

Thoughts?  Concerns?

Oh, Bob, I don't think that they serve PBR.  Their beer list is weak with only American Macro Brews.  Blah!!!  Anyone say Rum?

Hmmm...only macro brews, no craft beers? We are definitely beer snobs! May have to check this out.

So you have to scan the site carefully but found this:
"Ask your server about out craft beer & micro brews on tap! We also offer an extensive wine selection."

There is hope. Will call to get an idea. Seriously, if that's the beer menu listed then might even welcome PBR! I suspect those are the bottled beers and the craft brews are on tap, which would be preferable anyway.

Either lunch or dinner works for me or us, if I can convince the Admiral to come which is doubtful. I'll go along with what the masses decide. And, let me take this opportunity to dispel this rumor that all I drink is PBR. Actually, when it comes to beer, I'm a Guinness guy through and through! And I like some of our local NJ beers from Flying Fish and Riverhorse.  But....gimme a Dark and Stormy and I'm a happy guy. With a PBR a chaser, of course!!!  hahahaaaaa!!!!
As long as Peter doesn't mind further tarnish to his already questionable reputation, I may be appearing with him! Till then, mates,
