All slip fees are to be paid in advance in cash to me!!!!

Hey Folks!  Here is the scoop and what I have learned. Do NOT have a hip replacement before sailing season!  What was I thinking?  I guess I kinda figured that if I had it done in May I should be all healed up  by July.  Maybe if I was 25.

Anyway, things would have gone better if I wasn't in such a hurry to get back in condition because I overdid the PT thing and that set the healing back a bit.  But all is well and with some luck I may get the Madame in the water this summer/fall. (When was it that Bob dunked Koinonia kast year?)

As far as BBB-15 goes, the spirit is willing but the body...not so much.  Reading the posts have been an inspiration but it is not likely that I can get my act together in a month. ???  who knows?  I would really like to meet lkm and Figero.  Imagine..2 Eclipses at BBB.  Koinonia would be beside herself.

eagleye has not flown the coop.
Best to ya gents!

Just thinking about you and hope you make a full recovery!!!  It won't be the same without you and your highly polished anchor at BBB!!! Recover, my friend, and remember that the 4th annual Mid Winter Gathering of the East Coast Compac-o-nauts is just around the corner.

Eagleye - Hope you knit fast! Don't want to miss you at BBB-2015. I'd invite you to share the joy of Pegasus, but I doubt that you'd enjoy all the comfort of a septuagenarian (that'd be me) in the 16 footer! Even on a great day, there is a bit of pain!

BTW - I need you to bring extra butane.

Bob - Talk about pushing the clock! However, I've got just the place!!! With a view of the water, uh, maybe ice???

Though my CP23 will be on the hard I'd love to join in on the dinner! Perhaps Bob23 has room for an extra Bilge Rat on Koinonia?!

Allen..  I was wondering why we had not hear much from you this summer..  timing is everything in life..  hope you never have to go through hip replacement again, but if you do..  mid winter might be better in terms of getting prepped for sailing season!   jt

That was the plan Jason, but a cancelation came up and I was tired of dealing with it.
Took the winter cover off the "Madame" today and I will pick away at getting her ready for a future sail.

Wishing all of you the best for BBB 2015. Em and I have great memories of the event last year. Haven't finished redoing the O'Day 23 yet but the Mirage has been in the lake all season and we've sailed a decent amount.  Kind of a tough summer, my best friend died of cancer in July and our family pet of 15 years (a cat named Isis) died a week later. Spent a lot of time at the hospital with my friend and then some time sorting things after. Thanks goodness for the escapes of sailing and motorcycling. Em sends her best as well. Carpe Diem!

Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear of this sad news of your best friend.  And yes, I remember Emily telling us of Isis the cat. We lost our Siberian Husky this year so I know how you feel. Give Emily a hug from me- I still have photos of her clutching the bag of potato chips!!!!

It seems the BBB 2015 is evolving. It also seems that Marty and I are co- coordinators, and by the way- it's his 73rd birthday today so a big shout out to the remarkable Captain Volvo! Have a great day!
We should get some kind of head count here relatively soon. I'll be visiting the Captains Inn so I'm gonna to out on a limb and tell 'em about 6 boats may be attending so I'll see If can secure free slips if we have dinner there. If they are uncooperative, I'll go next door to Townsends where I know the owner. More soon, gents!

Thanks Bob and Marty for all the work getting us into the water for BBB.

Thanks particularly for checking out the marinas.  For your "headcount", as I mentioned before, I would like a slip on Friday night.

Question though.... For those of you who trailered your boats to BBB in previous years, what Marina do you launch your boats from, and where do you park your truck/trailer for the weekend?  Seems that Captains Inn doesn't have a ramp, but there are 2 in close proximity on either side of the Inn.  I'm coming by myself, and would like some help putting my mast up, so I'd like to meet up with you guys Friday.  Thanks!

Will do Bob and thanks. Sorry for the loss of your dog.
