Ron: We could caravan- I'm travelling from NJ! CLR is worth every mile.

Yeah Kick, I found another post that clarified CLR and looked up Carlyl Lake. To my disappointment I discovered it to be some distance from Maryland.

So when is the Maryland event?

Ron:
It's only 14 hours for me, door to door. Guaranteed you wouldn't regret the drive. I think the Tangier raid is sometime around Memorial Day. Check it out under the Destination page.

Bob,

Since we don't own a car anymore we figure you'll just swing by Florida on your way and pick us up.  Thanks in advance, we'll chip in $10 for gas.  Please pack extra sandwiches as well. Mike gets kinda hungry.

Not a problem at all...what's an extra 40 hours of driving among friends? Just make sure you have plenty of PBR on hand- I've heard Mike can put away a few!

$10 andyou want us to make the Peanut Butter on Rye sandwiches too????  Geez, ask a small favor and you go getting greedy right away.  Never mind Bob, we'll call an Uber driver.

Wants us to make the sandwiches....geesh!

Yes, I'll be coming.   I'm very curious to know what type of sailors we have in CPYOA.  I have never met any of you.  By the E-mail posts it sounds like their are some really wild characters in the association!  Find it unbelievable that people would travel from the East Coast to a small lake in the Mid-west to sail.   I live only seventy miles north of the lake and would not miss this rendezvous.  Name is Tim, sail a very sweet 16....will be sailing lots this Summer.  Since I live so close to the lake I would be glade to help in anyway I can.... logistics or planning, etc.  Best Regards  Tim Goddard, Warrensburg, IL

this is great news. we always want to add to the fleet. tim, we will do our best to make you welcome. as to the CLR sailors, well lets just say we have more than a few "characters" so the conversation is never boring neither is the sailing. don't worry about the racing. it's competitive but mostly for laughs (oh and trophies, can't forget them). as to the help, we usually have a pretty good handle on it however due to mistakes made by me i wasn't available to help rig and launch some boats. that will not happen in july. anytime you are up for a roadtrip and want to come down and sail with me just give me a heads up. if you dont want to bring the 16 you can just sail on mine. this goes for anyone else as well.  welcome tim

Time?  Who has time?  Why just today I need to.....well maybe not today.  But I am going to fix that ......nah, it is still working.  I absolutely am going to.........why rush into that on a pretty day like this?  I have to eat lunch and relax in the cockpit today.  See, I'm all booked up.

I too am disappointed that Bob seems less than enthusiastic about swinging by to pick up Brenda and Mike.  From there I live on the way back to Carlyle Lake.  I thought that it would be nice, since he is passing by anyway, for Bob to make a quick stop and pick me up.  In fact, I was hoping he would just hook up my boat and tow it up there for me.  I too, can throw in ten bucks for gas.

Well, all this just serves to confirm what some of you already know: I'm a mean and selfish curmudgeon. Yup. Ask the Admiral and she'll use more colorful descriptives.

I'm so sorry Bob.  I completely missed your promotion announcement in the news and didn't call to congratulate you. Official Mean and Selfish Curmudgeon status!  Wow, what a leap.
