It looks like there is no place else I have to be for the last week of July this year, the grand daughter was thinking of having her wedding about that time. I hoped after being retired for a while things would slow down, where is all that spare time I was promised. Tried to talk the wife into coming but no luck. My trusty old boat Cherish and I will sure to be there for one of the best sailing happening in the Midwest. Get those boats shined up and the beer on ice for another great week at the CLR.

This is a slight attempt at thread theft, but here goes anyway.
Music at CLR. Anyone play guitar? It might be fun to do some songs...of course the theme to Gilligan's Island would be a must. I play some acoustic drums so if there are any musicians out there, this could be lots of fun. And...isn't that what it's all about?
Any takers???

Ok then. We have the beginnings of the first (that I know of) official CLR jug band!!

It is with great sadness, and even greater disappointment to mike greene, that i must report the crew of miss adventure, and the comedy skit that sails with her, will not be attending this year's CLR.

miss adventure sits in the driveway with all her deck hardware removed and the 1st coat of new anti-skid paint applied.

all her teak has been sanded and recoated with cetol and now cetol gloss.

new rubrail and eyebrows arrived along with new chainplates.

her interior has been gutted, and all her wiring removed.

her captain, the swine that he is, has been putting off maintenance for some years now and finally decided that this is the summer that she is put back in "ship-shape".

all this work takes time and $ and so our attendence at CLR is sacrificed for the good of the ship.

I COULD HOWEVER, CALL MY TWIN DOUG AND ASK HIM TO PLAY MY PART AS COMIC RELIEF/FOOL.

if this is an acceptable option, let me know a.s.a.p. as he will be traveling from texas.

have fun all...c.c.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it sounds to me like Crazycarl just cut off another finger. No real Com-Pac owner that lives that close to the CLR would tear his boat apart just before the big party. You make up your own mind but it looks clear to me what really happened.

Carl:
This is totally unacceptable! I don't need to remind you that my cousins Vinny, Rocko and Guido know where you live. Capiche?

here's hoping that you change your mind. either way ------keep those fingers-----and toes

When I get there on Monday, when do the commerative t-shirts go on sale for the 2016 CLR? I need an extra large and how much are they?  I must of missed out on them last year.

kickingbug1

which t shirts are those?

I'm not sure they exist...maybe that's why you missed out on 'em.

Greene

In past years we have had someone take the initiative to make up CLR t-shirts.  Last season we didn't have anyone step up, so no t-shirts were made.  Any last minute volunteers?

In other news, I'm having some weird transmission issues with my trusty old Tundra and although I'm 90% sure she'd make it out there towing the humble sailing yacht "Koinoina", I'm pretty sure I'll be showing up without her. Instead, I own a nearly showroom condition 1993 Porsche which I'll be driving out in. It's a very rare car with only a few in existence but it's my daily driver. It wasn't made to sit in a climate controlled garage like some of Jay Leno's cars but instead, I drive it everywhere.
One would think it'd be difficult to carry an Adirondack Guideboat atop such a prestigious vehicle but Thule was kind enough to fabricate a one-off rack system designed just for this car. So if all goes right, I'll be arriving sometime on Monday afternoon.
Can't wait to see everyone, with or without T shirts! Wait: That didn't come out right....
