Well, after a brief absence, I'm back! Work has been nuts and I spent a lot of time prettying up Koinonia, or Koinpurse as  Kev's Admiral Lesa has so affectionately renamed her.
I'm hereby proposing the weekend of August 19 through 21st as the official date for the prestigious 2016 Barnegat Bay Bash. Some have asked why it's called a Bash when it's really just an informal get together of a bunch of aging Compact-o-nauts who can barely stay up past 9. Well, the honest answer is, when you attend you will either do one of two things: Bash yourself in the head wondering why you came. Or, bash yourself in the head and wonder why you didn't attend the earlier Bash's. Either way, we guarantee a weekend which will etch itself permanently in your brain.

The game is afoot! Date sounds good to me.

Great! We have our first victim! Anyone else brave enough?

Count me as tentative.
(I'm hoping for at least 30kn winds. I want to see if Bob can make the mast touch the water this time.  :^)

I'll do my best. It used to be easy when I sailed a Seapearl!!

I can bring my old Sunflower. First time ever in a sailboat (solo) on the bay in Ocean City, I managed to turn turtle in about 30 seconds! Had no clue how to right it. A motorboat with a bunch of young girls stopped and asked if I needed help. With a sheepish grin I gladly accepted. All this within view of the dock (where I launched) and my wife and her college friends! Oh, by the end of the day, I was giving rides to everyone!!

P.S. That was about 45 years ago!

hey: you got the attention of a bunch of young girls. You must be doing something right! Looking forward to seeing you at the epic 2016  BBB!

That should work for me, we take Robin to school on the 18th if I remember correctly. Can't confirm at this time if Lesa will attend, but I'm sure Bob23 can talk her into it. :)

PS. Maybe we'll even bring the dog, Attie. :D

That is great! It's kind of a prerequisite that Lesa be there! I'll bring the Guinness!

She is already saying she will not attend. :/

Let's just see about that...

Bob,
That date will work for me...as long as "work" doesn't get too crazy.
I'll start polishing my anchor.

Ah yes, Allen. That would be great if you can be there. You are the only sailor I know who has a dual purpose anchor that doubles as a mirror!

Folks, finally remembered my password.  I bought my cp-19II too late for last years bash.  I am now on Barnegat Bay, at mouth of Kettle Creek, Drumpoint Marina, Brick.

Moved boat down from Loenardo, Sandy hook bay.  Had to put the trailer out of its misery afterwards.

So far so good (sails a bit blown out, same as my mid section).  With my mighty Torqeedo 1003 back up egg beater, I will meet y'all at Tices Shoals.  Praying for a rare northern wind...

Regards,
Brian

Looking forward to meeting up with you Brian. Just don't pray too hard for a "northern wind". That's what we had last year. Quite an adventure! We kept Pegasus snuggled up at her slip in Forked River and dared the bay in Bob23's CP23 Koinonia. And yes, we got a little wet. Had the jib out for less than a minute... enough!
