I checked the menu...no PBR. You guys are safe!!!!

We will not be able to make it this year but my wife is from Colonial Beach and stayed at the Rivers Edge last year when she returned for her 50th Class Reunion.  It is a nice place and the people in Colonial Beach are friendly.  Traditionally it is not a busy place this time of year.  There is a good boat ramp right at the point and the Potomac is wide and beautiful.  I think ya'll will have a fun time!   tj

I am a native of Colonial Beach and the HS as well.  It was a good place to grow up.  I spent a lot of my younger days sailing a sunfish.  I practically sailed 365 days out of the year.  If there wasn't ice on the river I would be out there!

JERSEY SHORE TRAILER SAILERS

Yeah, and I'm trying to play the straight man here and keep these clowns in line. They don't pay me enough around here!

HeaveToo

bob23 is secretly worried that if he comes down to the Chesapeake Bay he may not want to go home!

It should be an interesting gathering on the Point (that is the area where Dockside is located by local name).

I have a bunch of time in May off.  May 16-June 5, I think.  Anyway, I am going to figure out what I am going to do during that time and may see if some of us want to meet over at Tangier Island.  That would be an awesome place to meet.

I estimate Tangier is about 63 miles from me via the water... probably more than a single day trip.  Since I'm not going on my annual ski trip, maybe I can get permission to go on a week-long sail trip, which could be fun to tour the bay.

I won't be able to make the CBMWG, but hope you have a great time.

Yup Bob23 is well known for his straight, no nonsense approach to things! So how many PBR's had you had.......

CBMWG is shaping up to be memorable. We should make plans to really enjoy the venue cuz we might not get invited back! Sailors on shore leave SOS.

Who all do we have coming to the Party On the Point (POP)?

It should be fun.  Dockside is an interesting place.  The marina there is a neat place and if you visit Colonial Beach by water it isn't a bad place to stay.  My marina isn't too far from there.  There is really good sailing in the area too and it is close to a public ramp.

For cruises within 16 miles of Colonial Beach:
Cobb Island, MD  (nice place, good restaurants, small night life).
Canoe Neck Creek, MD (nice anchorage with excellent holding.  There is a restaurant close by but I have never been there).
Breton Bay, MD (There are some really good anchorages here.  Leonardtown, MD is there at the end and there are restaurants and a GREAT bar there).
Nonomi Bay, VA (Great anchorage, not much to do around there).
Port Tobacco River (Good place but I haven't been here).

Cool article on Tangier Island.  Maybe a little motivation for some to come out and visit it this summer.

Ok folks (Chesapeake Bay area) who may be suffering tom the mid-winters what happened to sailing (those of you way down South need not pay attention!) the CBMWG gathering is on for 1/30 in Colonial Beach. You have been forewarned that this gathering has the potential for some after gathering posts that should be epic, jus sayin! Clearly PG13

Are you threatening me, No Mas? As if that was your real name. The brave and intrepid PeterG and I were on the phone and barring a national disaster or those pesky North Koreans dropping another of their little bombs, I will be there.

I think that noon was the definite time.

I am looking forward to meeting up with everyone.  This should be a good time.
