Following up a suggestion by someone for a rendezvous.

Sure, maybe we can pick the dates, then decide what the trip is when we have a quorum? My first try at this, so bear with me.

Due to limitations of the polling tool on this site, I want to suggest we use a Doodle poll. This will allow each person to check multiple dates they are available, and it will be easy to see dates when all or most are available.

I think I fixed that now, Wes.

I cleared all the votes and allowing everyone to vote three times.  Also, the poll should be visible as well.
I'm not sure if you guys see the edit poll feature or if only Admins can do it.

So..revote and let me know what you see and if the poll is working like you want it.

Great, Salty - thank you very much. That's much more useful.

I hope this poll gets found; I think I should have put it in the group section instead of the lounge. Oh well, who lives may learn. Glad to see Salty's help; guess he is unfroze, haha.

I think it probably belongs in the "Group Outings and Com-Pac Events" area. Perhaps one of our long-suffering administrators will be willing to move it there....

Okay, looks like the poll is in the right place.

Probably can't wait too long to pick a date; one choice is in the lead for now.

Anyone want to state their preference for a start, destination, etc?

My boat is at Blackbeard Sailing Club just below New Bern.

I am located at the Grand Marina in New Bern, perhaps we could meet at the mouth of  either Upper or Lower Broad Creek(s) on the Neuse.
However I am up for any where.

Looks like we have 5 voters, 4 with a specific weekend. I'm all for meeting at the mouth of Upper Broad Creek. If all of us are in NB, we can go to Oriental and back, perhaps.

Let's see if the other voters will put an oar in.

I didn't vote on any dates yet, but if I can get my wife to take Monday as a vacation day for travel, we have an interest in coming down.  Is there much in the way of wind in mid-July on the river or is it likely to me more of a motoring event?

Well, I see some more votes for June 7.  A tie with one of the July dates.

I don't have the answer for your question, elk, since this is my first go-through of the seasons with my boat on the Neuse.

Ok guys.

I'm new here. My 23, "Dixie's Grace" is at Blackbeards Sailing club. I just put here in the water. I look forward to  meeting up. I voted for June 7.

Bruce, missed you last weekend. I'm on B-7. Go take a look.

Chesley

BruceW

Looks like an unvote for July 12, so for now June 7 is leading.

I'll have a look, Chesley; sent you a PM, but maybe you didn't see it.

I can arrive Friday evening at BSC, be ready to take off any time Saturday, if we are meeting in NB (so far, that's where I think most people are starting), maybe we go to Oriental for the night, then head back on Sunday?

Any other nominations for what to do, where to go? I would anchor out, or even raft up, if the rest of  yawl want to.

Maybe it's just the idea of a rendezvous that is appealing; maybe like me, yawl have so much to do that you can't really get into it until the time comes.

I'm still holding the weekend of June 7, and I'll be planning on my own to have what I need to join in.

I have a couple things to do, so will try to be at the boat Friday afternoon and get those things done so I"ll be ready Saturday morning.

I have a handheld radio, but no boat name picked out, so I'll try to figure out at least a rendezvous "handle" so anyone else who shows up can call. Folks I know usually hail on 16, switch to 69. I also will have my cell. Maybe we can send around names and cell numbers for reference. PM me for number, I guess.

If this doesn't work out, well, hey, there are other weekends.

See yawl out there, I hope!
