Very cool, Pat! Get your friend to help you out and start joining in as you feel comfortable. Maybe some time you might come up to NB and just daysail with me in my CP 23; same designer, just aired up (well, sorta).

Hey Pat: C-16's are really super boats, great choice.  Just sold our C-16.  Pull yours up here to New Bern or pick a time in Morehead...I'll be glad to sail with you.  I know the Neuse around New Bern better than the waters around Morehead, but am game for anything.

Thanks Bruce and Charlie for responding to my post.  And thanks Charlie for the offer.  If things don"t work out soon I will gladly take you up on your offer and bring my C-16 up to New Bern.  So much to learn including how to back my trailer up to the ramp!

BruceW

Just about to leave Raleigh; have a couple things to do regarding my trailer parts in New Bern, and then if time adjust the hatchboard latch on the boat.

See yawl down there, Terry & Charlie.

Pat, yeah, that backing to the ramp is fun to learn! ;)  Well, fun to have already learned, anyway.

Had a very nice couple of days sailing the Neuse River With Charlie on his CP27 Windrunner and Bruce with his CP 23. We met out on the Neuse River by Broad Creek around Noon on Saturday. Temperature was in low 80's with winds NE appx 5-10 knots. Sailing was very good as we tacked back and forth across the Neuse till approximately 4:30 pm. With winds increasing 10-15 knots at the turn in the Neuse at Minnesott Beach, we agreed to turn in to Hancock Creek for the Night.

We rafted up and enjoyed conversation and hors d'oeuvres late into the night. After a good night sleep with temperatures down around 60 degrees, we left the anchorage mid-morning for a nice sail back towards New Bern. With the wind to our backs again at about 5-10 knots, we enjoyed a nice leisurely sail, wing and wing back to Broad Creek. Overall, it was an excellent weekend for sailing and a chance to meet new friends.

Terry, thanks for the pictures.

Hey it was truly a great weekend sail.  I wish that I had brought a camera to take a couple of pictures of Terry's C-19 Exodus and Bruces C-23.  I was impressed with Exodus's downwind performance...I couldn't catch up with him.

I gotta get those new sails!

I really had a great time and look forward to the next time we have a get together.

Great pictures, Terry! It was a pleasure meeting you and Charlie, and having a fun sail on the Neuse. I find I am behind in my photobucket uploads, so it's going to be a bit, but I'll have some pictures to show as well. Folks, it's great that Terry had pictures of the only time I was ever in front of him; great maneuvering to get that shot!

I see there are still 4 votes for July 12 weekend to try this again; how about it, folks? A make-up for those who missed, another chance for us to see how the river goes!

Okay, here are some photos from the recent Com-pac Rendezvous on the Neuse.

I'll try to post several with their captions. Fingers crossed.
