Well it sounds like it's gonna be official: Barnegat Bay Bash 2012 version 2.0 will be released to the public somewhere in September. The 1st is Labor Day Weekend and, take it from me, you don't wanna be over at Tice's that weekend. Every yahoo and thier uncle Guido shows up and it's noisy. Personally, the following weekend is not good as my daugher has announced she's flying up from Punta Gorda with a new boyfriend and she says "It's time to meet him". Time to get the shotgun down from the wall and make sure it works just fine. Gotta rehearse my lines: "Boy, let's you and me take a little ride in my pickup." Sound intimidating?
Does the weekend of the 15th, 22nd or 29th work for anyone? Maybe we can even entice some of those rascally CLR guys out here.

" "Boy, let's you and me take a little ride in my pickup." Sound intimidating?

How about....

" I don't mind going back to prison..."

"Sure go out with my daughter, have fun. Just remember" (dramatic pause) "anything you do to her, I'm going to do to you!"

So far any of those weekends look good to me, September is pretty much wide open so far!!!

I like the "I'm not afraid o go back to prison..." for the record. ;)

Bob23

Thanks for the advice, gents. By the way, we're not neccesarily limited to weekends. I can take off during the week if that works for everyone.
How about this line: " See that mound out back with the big flowers, son? That's where we buried the last guy that didn't respect my daugter. There's room for one more."

I like "Let me show you how this shotgun works"  --- as you blow down a 3" pine tree from 5 feet away :o ;D.

Y'know, I could make it on the weekend of 15th & add a  Thurs & Friday on.

Long drive up, but who's counting?

I love the creativity that you all are demonstrating regarding potential son in laws.  I like them all!   There is a great country song that depicts the father cleaning his gone when the boy shows up on Friday night when the boyfriend shows up.   Iget achuckle out of that each time I hear it..
As for the real issue at hand..  Either one of those weekends should work for me.   But I will need to know soon so that I could be sure to get it out the school calendar..  Wish I could take some time off in the middle of the week in September!  But I afraid that won't happen until til I retire..  I probably won't be able to make it out there till early Saturday morning.      Jt

Seriously: I don't even own a bb gun. The closest thing I own to a weapon is the water cannon/book hook I keep aboard my boat. But, woe be to the guy who doesn't respect my daughter.
More seriously: The Ides of September will work for me and if there is no objection from the populace at large, 9/15 'twill be. All in favor, say Aye! Those not if favor, say Aye! Well, there you have it: The Aye's have it.
Tim: That would be so cool if you could make it. I'm sure that your appearance will help us draw a crowd.

I'm marking the calendar now, before it gets booked up!!!  I really hope I can make it, Now I really need to get back to work on the Minnow ASAP.  If I'm going to be overnighting in this thing, I've got some major cleanup work to do below deck... Oh, and some mods to get started on!

looks like i better start using spell check!   :)     15th sounds good.. i will put it on the calendar and do my best to make sure that i don't get scheduled for anything at school that weekend..     thanks for making the effort to put this together again !     jt

I hope everyone can make it. Just checked the Almanac and unfortunately, there is a new moon on 9/15 but that's ok...nice, high (and low) water.

Bob,
Suzie and I will mark it down for the 15th.  We will plan on coming down on Friday and staying to whenever.
Thanks for all your efforts.

Great!
As we get closer, we'll iron out the details. I usually take that Friday off and sail up to Tice's Shoals around noon or so, depending on wind direction. More than likely, because I tend to over-plan and procrastinate, I'll drop anchor around 3 pm.
I'll try to locate some ramps in the area so those trailering have a place to put in.

I just got word that my good friend Evan will be able to make it that weekend!!!  I think we will come join you early Saturday morning and plan on spending Saturday night on the boat!  I have lots of work to do, but I finally made room for my 16 at my house, so I can thrash on getting the interior cleaned up,painted, and ready for the big adventure.  I can't wait!!!  Any advice for the newbs would be appreciated!

Bob23

I'll be posting some updates shortly with some boat ramp locations nearby. I'm glad you can make it...the more the merrier!
