Well for those of you have visited for some of the gatherings there are some subtile changes over at Merrior. Most importantly is the removal of the old rickety docks and the installation of brand spanking new floating docks. A perfect way to visit now! (Well going over is clearly easier than returning, I dunno, something about happy hour ;0)

The other less visible change was the raising of a sunken sloop that was always an interesting item to avoid if hoping to arrive by boat or for the watermen bringing the oysters in to process. The whole event took an amazingly short period of time. Pulled up in pieces by a track hoe on a barge, then transfer of the pieces to a truck, then gone! She had been sunk well over ten years ago but gone now! A transient came in late two nights ago and passed directly over the previously sunken boat. glad it was gone. With the new docks there is an increasing number of folks who now come by water.

Speaking of coming..........can taste the food and cold beer and almost hear the stories.......CBMWG 3.0. :)

Oh i think we will find much conversation bout this if history speaks at all! As Kev said, " it's like we are already having the gathering" , so for those of you who don't speak CBMWG, Chesapeake Bay Mid Winter Gathering 3.0.

MFF has new owners and they will, I am certain, be in attendance.  :)

Oh...we have no trouble brewing, that is the trouble!   :)

More than likely we will be looking at a time frame similar to the previous two. Def want get a date that works for most folks. Maybe we can even get Heave out of retirement.

Ok the mid winter fun is on track! Bob is getting SAMWG (6th ANNUAL MID WINTER GATHERING) proposed for mid January and the CBMWG was mid February last year so lets throw out the idea of 2/17 for CBMWG 3.0. Yes Lesa, you are basically driving 5 hours for lunch! (well really for the weekend!) That date is a holiday weekend and thus hopefully it will allow folks an extra day to travel and also catch some of the sights down here on the Chesapeake. As mentioned am gunna see if we can talk Pedro and Becky into hosting another party and bonfire after the gathering as they graciously did last year.

Pedro and Becky have the fortune to live oh so close by and though owners of a fine Tug, it seems sailing may also be a tug again. He has been instrumental in helping my return. (OBTW, think you can get Richard down for this?)

Now Bob, ya gunna have to get Linda on board with this one cuz can't get ya a date with Sister Merry Blond as she is moving to Florida!  :(
I'm afraid that MFF is now with new owners who we will encourage to join us. Who knows they are already pondering a 31 some day so.......

Antonio, Marion and Miracle, their Flicka now share the same dock with us, and although a PSC she fits nicely in with the Compacs we all love. Hopefully you all will meet and embrace them.

Kev and Lesa the danger of more sailboats than you can shake a stick at is still of concern. I'm afraid that we are not the folks to keep you away from them.

Tim, you missed the summer gathering so here's the chance to catch up for lost time! Hope you and Vicki will grace us with your presence again if we can pry you guys away from SML.

Wayne you and Phyllis will need to come to support Bob in his steadfast (and puzzling) defense of PBR, which of course there is a plaque to in the men's restroom. (don't those of you who weren't there wonder now!?)

Heave, you are planning to bring Jackie and come out of retirement we trust. It would not be a CBMWG without ya! (OBTW know about a great Catalina 30 for sale close by there, jus sayin )

and Dave....our girls truly were hatched oh so close together that we owe it to them to hook up finally. Mas would love to meet her.

So the sailing season winds down with a chili cook off and bonfire as the last marina event here for our little "yacht club", Mas will be coming home with us in time for Thanksgiving, and Interlude will be coming out of the water and then sit quietly in the boatyard till it all begins again in the spring. We will find our way back to our mountain and those winter sports we love so much, but the promise of mid winter gatherings will bring us back to the fine folks we have met compliments of this thing called sailing!

So....weigh in all, mark those calendars it's time to gather! It'll be winter before ya know it. Gotta start somewhere on this timing so lets propose:

Chesapeake Bay Mid Winter Gathering 3.0

Hmmm...I still don't see the difference, well talking about the wife/girlfriend discussion anyway. Clear difference with PBR and beer, yup that's right i said PBR and beer. They are not the same!  :)

Golly winter certainly rushed in all of a sudden. 13 degrees up on the mountain Saturday morning. Gunna head to boats this coming week and plan to bring Mas home for the winter after one last sail. Slowly gunna pull things off Interlude and plan to winterize and strip her canvas week after Thanksgiving then it's officially winter for us regardless of what the calendar says. Hoping the weather cooperates for more days of taking Interlude out before then. So....that simply means we are closer to a mid winter gathering while ski season is just around the corner. Perfect!
Title: Re: CBMWG 3.0
Post by: Mas on December 17, 2017, 07:58:25 AM
Well all this talk about mid winter gatherings has reminded me to put it out there again for the CBMWG 3.0 now scheduled for 2/17/18. We have already been in major winter white stuff mode and found ourselves trying to remember the sailing season. It seems like it was months ago but Interlude just came out of the water last week and Mas came home with us for Thanksgiving. Interlude is getting a new fuel tank for Christmas (thankfully PSC designs their boats with service in mind so an easy out with the old and in with the new). Mas' list is less costly with her only wishing for a jib downhaul. Gotta love it!

This Thursday will not only be our Christmas Jam night with several musicians from the Charlottesville music scene but also the first day of winter. We all know what the middle of it brings......so mark those calendars, practice the sailing yarns, know that you will probably have too much fun, and prepare for CBMWG 3.0 (scroll back up through for the particulars.)

We also know that some of you will be in training for this event as you will gathering with Blob, Kevin, et al at the mid winter fun up in NJ. So there will be little excuse to not continue the fun the next month! We will be at a music event during that weekend in January but will lift a glass to all and look forward to seeing everyone again. Am going to reach out and try to get Heave out of retirement for this. Pedro now is officially a self described "tranvesselite" now that he has another sailboat so it will prove to be interesting to see how the transformation will look!  Bob will need to be given a little grief over his multiple aborted attempts to own a CP16, heck even Kevin has been muttering about such! Can't wait to see pics of Tim's traveler project on his CP19, as the only thing that i never fully liked was the end boom sheeting on the Compacs. (bet you guys are really liking SML now that all of the touristas are gone!). Wayne, you and Phyllis will need to pull yourselves away from your new grandchild for a day and come join again. Antonio and Marion we are sure will be in attendance (they are the new owners this past fall of 'Miracle', the PSC Flicka that was the subject of much discussion at last years CBMWG and still have a Montgomery 15 so they fit well with this group of Compacteers!)

So........it'll be here before ya know it, meanwhile let us all be grateful for this thing called sailing and the many friends we have met and will continue to meet! In the interim, stay warm, dream of fair winds and distant shores, and take care of one another, and hope you have not been naughty (well maybe e a little!) but instead nice! Santa will understand.  :)

Bob, am pretty sure they are planning to keep the M15, sort of like why we have a 16, something easy to rig, trailer and yet seaworthy. Guess you can try to talk them out of it! They don't drink PBR so can't offer a years supply of it! Wish we weren't already booked that weekend of the gathering up here in January but looking forward to telling sailing yarns and seeing everyone in February. Meanwhile have been on the snow already and hope winter leaves us with more. None of the sailors at our little marina can fathom this as they either point their boats south or simply hope it isn't too cold. You are one of the few that actually likes the snow!

Well it is now officially winter as the solstice occurred just a half hour ago. What does all that mean? Hopefully some snow in the forecast for those of us who refuse to grow up (I agree Bob) and if it's now winter the middle of it brings..........ready.........CBMWG 3.0! The question that is now floating around is 'will Kevin or Bob find a 16 that one of them actually buys!' Guess we will have to wait to see, it surely will be a topic of discussion over some beers.

Indeed, but need to run faster than my wife...I do have the seed of a thought that if Shrewsbury CP 16 is worthy, it may become a Barnegat Bay Squadron trailer boat.  None of us needs another boat, but would like one for a few sails a year, and of course to load with PBR for assorted Compac gatherings....something maybe along the lines of shared initial and annual trailer/boat overhaul and maintainance (read as drinking while tinkering)

Lot to think about, will take pictures on Sat.  Someday I will learn how to make the files small enough to post...

Hey Brian, usually the photos can be resized when you export them. Maybe Google the method for your computer/device?

Meanwhile......you gotta consider joining us for CBMWG. There has always been a contingent from New Jersey! Plus we can see the pictures first hand of the CP16. My wife is very supportive of the need to get a 16 as one taught us sailing a buzzillion years ago. She can help your wife with the acceptance of such.  :)

I hope to be at CBMWG 3.0.  I travel for a living (read as "to support my sailing addiction) so it is too soon to know where I will be told to be.

Also, my Admisal works for FEMA, and looks like she is to be deployed to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, after the New Years.  If Her stayi goes over a month, I will try to join her for a weekend (read as "probably best possible time to explain another Compac in our driveway).

Best wishes to you and yours for a safe and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Less than completely sober Boxer / St Stephen's Day, and a Joyous Holiday Season!

Well i don't know about everyone else but it got to be winter quick and has stayed that way! Setting new records here, using purple wax on the skis, even our Chessie who loves cold weather has been going out to do his business and then wanting to be back in. Luv my winter sports but can only stay out for a couple hours at a pop. The wind has been the greatest challenge. Wait....this is supposed to be about a sailors gathering....sorry saw mid winter and just got confused. So...lets see....oh that's right Chesapeake Bay Mid Winter Gathering. Right now there is a winter storm warning in effect for where we keep our boat and where the gathering will be held. Ice is rapidly forming and aren't we glad we elect to haul every year!

I assume those of you up along the coast, especially our Joisey friends, are dealing with this storm as well. We have only seen a few flakes from it up here in the mountains but sure got ya on the temps. with only single digit highs and below zero lows, then ya add wind chill! Let's not let this cold numb our desires to get together this winter. Still wish the date for gathering up there in Joisey land could have been different but we will be with you in spirit, actually will be a a music event so prob will be consuming spirits as well. Then it'll be time to focus on CBMWG 3.0. Here's hoping we get to see everyone again!  :)

Stay warm. Get those ski's out Bob.
Title: Re: CBMWG 3.0
Post by: Bob23 on January 04, 2018, 11:58:23 AM
Ski's are ready. Difficult to say how much we have. There's a 3 foot drift by the back door so I'd say we have 3 feet! Of course the deck nearby is bare so maybe we're not getting any!! 3 to 6" is forecast but I'm banking on about 7 3/4 inch. Heavy. Maybe 7/8ths.
We'll be there for the CBMWG for sure. Not sure who "we" is yet.
Title: Re: CBMWG 3.0
Post by: Mas on January 05, 2018, 06:45:19 PM
Gotta admit, it is rare when I choose to not go out and ski or board with the kind of squeaky fast dry snow we have up on the mountain, but it is brutally cold up there. it has not gotten out of the single digits for almost two weeks and below zero at night with 15-20 and gusting NW winds on several of the days. Only good for a couple hours at best then it's time to go back inside and count fingers and toes.

Pedro says the water down around our marina is frozen up good as is the water over at Merrior. It ain't the middle of winter, not even close, but records are falling. Since we are discussing numbers, let's try 44!

That's right T minus 44 and counting to CBMWG 3.0
Title: Re: CBMWG 3.0
Post by: Mas on January 12, 2018, 09:25:35 AM
Alright.....at last post we had just seen 16 below zero ambient temps on the mountain and some of the coldest weather ever encountered down here in ole Virginny. Well if ya don't like the weather wait a week......it's already 66 this morning and due to hit 70 or above before day is done. At this rate we might have to skip right past CBMWG and go right to CBMSG. Hmm....guess the season is still winter so......

T minus 36

Bob, no worries about primacy, it's all good. We all embrace the opportunities we have to gather (the more the merrier!), no matter when or where! Happy trails, till we meet again.  :)

News flash......heard from Heave. He says some news may be on the horizon.

At 1700 on 1/20/18 Susan and I tipped a glass while at a music event to the group of Compacteers gathered up in Joisey land to celebrate this thing called sailing! It is now time to get those glasses lined up for "that other" mid winter event!

The ice has finally released it's grip on the bay, the days are slowly growing longer, the stories getting embellished, the faces of friends found cuz of this incredible forum missed. It must be time for Chesapeake Bay Mid Winter Gathering (CBMWG 3.0)  on 2/17/17. Warning to those who who may be coming, your reputation will be permanently impaired and the possibility of getting another boat may be enhanced, don't know why, it just happens! We are probably gunna set up a betting pool as to whether Bob will actually get that 16 or no! Pedro now has a sailboat again and has had these long winter evenings to get her looking good!

The Venue, Merrior, has now been named the most popular restaurant in Virginia. It is a pretty special place, and now we just gotta fill it with special people.  :)

Well Bob, ya definitely need to bring the Tundra. How else can you tow a 16 back with you!

https://fredericksburg.craigslist.org/boa/d/1987-com-pac-16-sail-boat/6469971078.html

Jus sayin.........though beginning to think you really don't want one!

Well last year there was discussion of a Flicka for sale, and now that fine craft is in the hands of Antonio and Marion. Who's next? CBMWG can be hazardous to your financial health as just so many boats! Meanwhile it's time to firm up this event now scheduled for 2/17. Last year we met for lunch and that is what is proposed again. Weigh in folks as the wish is for the best timing for folks who are driving from afar. It seemed to work last year. We have about a 3 hour trip but know many others have longer. Hoping we will get the usual partners in crime form previous years,, (that would be you Bob, Kevin and Lesa, Tim and Vicki, Wane and Phylis, Pedro and Becky, Heave and Jackie, and of course Susan and myself).

We also have some new folks that have expressed an interest, and we again give the disclaimer that we cannot promise your reputation will remain unscathed! Brian, hope you will be done with travels and can come. Leonardo, here's hoping that your time helping in Puerto Rico is fulfilling and that a return to the Bay can find you coming down. Def. gotta get together with our 16's for some small boat fun once the season turns. Dave, need to get down as well. It's time to check out the cruising ground down here so you can bring that 16 down for some fun as well!

It is getting closer! Haven't seen the bay, our boat, Merrior, and smelled the scent of the water and fabulous seafood in months!

Looking forward to seeing our sailing friends, (yes that includes Pedro now that he has a sailboat again) and sharing food, drink, and fellowship. Have heard from some of you but not all! How about it Kevin and Lesa, and hopefully some new faces as well Dave, Brian and Leonardo? Long term forecast is looking good so far.

Bob, it appears that another 16 has slipped by ya. Thats the bad news, the good news is the new owner is someone we know and she more than likely will be keeping her at our marina! Will fill ya in over a beer.

So....lets get this put in gear, it'll be time to plan CBMSG 3.0 before ya know it. Will fill folks in on the 17th.

Looking forward to this stellar event. Not sure if the Admiral will attend so I may be sailing solo. Not sure if I'll arrive by Porsche or the Tundra with the intrepid guideboat Straggler strapped down to the racks. Probably by Porsche-so much more fun to drive!! In any event, should be a fun time and should Commodore Kev arrive, we must assign him the task of doing the video coverage of this event!
Rick- the only way I'll ever get a 16 is by NJ style- steal one and alter the numbers!
Ciao!

Hmmm....should i be putting a lock on the trailer of our's?!!!

Little worried about Kevin and Lesa, me thinks they have slipped their lines and disappeared south.....ya never know! The owner of Black Swan headed south, sold her and now has a Cabo Rico 56! Yikes, you would need a map of the interior to find your way out. What does this teach us......don't head south!

I agree, i have seen that car. One of the rarest of the rare! Most folks wouldn't even recognize it as a Porsche.

It would not be a gathering without them, who would record that it even happened! We barely can remember what happened the next day.

Have been watching this as well Tim. It seemed to change almost every day. The easiest reschedule is to move it to Sunday as weather is looking better. Anything outside of a couple days will bring yet again the potential for "crappy" weather. It is a mid winter gathering!!!

Wuddathink folks? Move to Sunday if forecast holds? Would like to wait till closer (48 hours) before making the call as the forecast has been so changeable.

I'd like to take the wait 48 hours tack and then decide. The Porsche is all ready for an early Saturday morning departure but let's see how the weather is. A Sunday would not work for me as I need to report back to my parole officer first thing Monday morning. Waiting a week or two sounds ok except what if the weather doesn't cooperate then?

Ok my gut feeling is unless unsafe weather, which clearly means reschedule, we not worry bout some cold dreary weather and focus on warm food, non dreary friends and cold beverages instead! At least at present the rain is not supposed to begin till evening then clear overnight with sun to great us next morning.

We just have to worry about being thrown out into the cold if we get too rowdy! I'm planning on making a weekend out of it and next day is looking good to have a leisurely morning and recover for a splendid trip home with the CBMNSG 3.0 plans already decided! (it is one of the tasks we all must accomplish!) Bob we both are getting on top of this is planning thing! The beauty of the CBG's is that they are not dependent upon weather as they are land based, though Bob did bing a boat to last year's CBMWG 2.0! Can't wait to see which craft he brings this year.  :)

I am still heading down to boat as have scheduled some work that must occur before a new fuel tank goes in. Plus someone has to party with Pedro! Had generally planned to do this on the CBMWG date as prob won't be back to boat again till spring. Good chance that we will need to reschedule next winter but will look at opportunities. There is a Sock Burning Party happening on 3/17 that we are pondering going to. Might be a possibility for a reschedule and thus venue change, it is a free event for customers and friends so would need to see if others can be invited not unlike the mid summer event. Beer, music, oysters, seafood, and of course sailors burning socks! Stand upwind of the fire. Will advise.

Hope that remodel project goes well Tim, Bob hope the admiral recovers as there is a lot out there this year in illness. Wayne sure we may see you a some point. Happy trials till we meet again!

Ok all before anyone starts marking calendars we will need to see if the folks doing the sock burning party will be cool with bringing lots of folks. It is put on by the local sail loft here not the marina. Plus as noticed it is St. Paddies day. We hung around boats in the yard (sunny weather) till it got cloudy then we retired to lamb and clam, grilled tuna, drinks and telling stories about everyone not in attendance, which meant we had a lot of stories. :)

Well another beautiful day down at Regent Point Marina. The rain began late afternoon yesterday and was done by late evening.
It def was a cold rain but was snuggled in with a good book and woke up to sun. Will look at the ole calendar for a possible CBMWG 3.1 but CBMWG 3.0 has come and gone. It will be impossible to pick a date more than a couple days out with guaranteed great weather as even yesterday kept having the forecast change and ended up on the balance sheet a nice day. Will look at those days in March but as mentioned have made a promise to help a new Compac owner go fetch her boat on one of the two weekends folks keep throwing out there. Whichever works best for her schedule will need to be the deciding factor.

Meanwhile CBMWG 3.0 did happen and Pedro and i talked sailboats and absentee folks! Have included a couple pics including MFF of which there had been discussion at last years event. Her current owners saw her and met the previous owner at CBMSG 2.0. She now sits in the yard at Regent awaiting to return to the same dock we are on in the spring. It also appears that yet again another boat will end up at Regent as the new 16's owner is seriously considering such!

Yup it is called stacking the dock.  :)

Well folks there is no reason that you shouldn't come visit even though CBMWG happened!  We all know there is no way to guarantee beautiful weather in advance and this boy will only be going down from now on with good weather so work can get accomplished as we get closer to the sailing season. We usually never go on a weekend unless it is for an event, such as last weekend.  :)

I cannot commit to any dates at present as have some promises to keep that involve the weekends being discussed. We are going to play the 3/17 Sock burning Party by ear to see if good weather. It is an outdoors event and also since we live some hours away from our boat wanna accomplish some work as well. It does have all of our usual requirements for fun, a brewery bringing their beer, oysters from the local waters, seafood from a local company, music, lots of like minded folks and a wonderful sail loft company as a host. (They have made sails for the Coast Guard tall ship Eagle as well) It is also St. Patrick's day so.........

You guys don't need us there to have a good time, we certainly didn't let everyone's absence impair our good times! Hope we can find an excuse to see everyone as always great to hang with such fine folks.  Got 8/4/18 in my calendar.

Now there is also the idea of folks coming to "the center of the known universe" where we live. No boats, but a buzzilion breweries, wineries, distilleries, great restaurants, music and much to see and do. Charlottesville can be a bit crazy on festival or game weekends but a fun town regardless. Plus we live there! Well just west of town up against the Shenandoah National Park. So maybe a Charlottesville Brewery Music Wine Gathering?

Meanwhile getting a little late season skiing in. Am not ready for it to be warm yet, it'll be warm soon enough.  :)

It is the center of the known universe! It is almost the exact same drive time for you to Charlotteasville as to Regent Point Marina. Maybe time to actually see the center of the known universe. Again a disclaimer about no hope for any temperance secondary to the literally dozens of breweries, wineries and distilleries there. You would have to visit for a month to visit all of them within a 30 minute drive from our home. (assuming you would actually be sampling the offerings!) Heck we run tap beers at home and have a brewery on site. Have included a little photo of the fermentation room in our modest brewery here.

Jius saying......might be a fun trip!   :)

Yeah it is a Southern thing. It is a fact that many places in The Commonwealth of Virginia actually were opposed to the repeal of prohibition mostly cuz they had a good thing going and didn't want VABC as competition. There are many 'still" in operation, and having sampled many, can honestly say most have it down pat!

Our little brewery, run by our son, is due to move soon as we are out of production room. Trust me the interior designer that was responsible for the "look" in the pic will be back at it for it's next incarnation! As the rest of the scripture says ......."he restoreth my soul." So you could come lie in our green pastures, hang with our distilled water but you're on your own with how restored you may feel.  :)

Meanwhile the Sock Burning party may have just been preempted as some fine folks that we have played with as well and love their genre and music are coming to the Jeff for a special St. Paddies Day show. We will certainly be in attendance. It is a great venue, great music, great reason to celebrate....heck you could stay right on the downtown mall in Charlottesville and walk to Breweries, listen to great Music, sample local Wine and Gather with friends at some incredible restaurants.

Hey Wayne, thanks for the compliment! We are sooooo ready for the brewery to move as it is bursting at the seams and frankly I want my space back for next incarnations. The real important part is the "dispensary" which will remain long after the production facilities are gone to a much larger but still close by location. Nothing is final till the ink dries but we now have the land for it under contract. Then comes the fun part of building and equipping a new and larger brewery. Kinda scary but also exciting. We can then focus here at our home (where it currently exists) upon some small batch (one barrel) craft brews just for fun, well for consumption as well. Then again.......the whole thing could fall apart tomorrow, so staying hopeful.

Attached a pic of the "dispensary" that has been dispensing since 1992!  :)

Helps explain some our our Dain Bramage!

I lived in a Greathouse in Jamaica called Whitehall.  Good times. But missed my family.

Mr. Bob........u gunna need to orient ourself to the center of the known universe. We live in Whitehall! Charlottesville is just down the road east of us, Shenandoah National Park is literally our western neighbor. Here is a little pic from our place looking towards the park. (yes that is really snow!)

Got it. Such lovely snow just begging to be cross country skied! You almost have it all: Beer, snow...but no salt water!

Yeah that's one of the reason why we have Interlude, so we can go find salt water! Meanwhile we can always try to encourage "old salts" like yourself (not that I'm calling you old!) to come visit. We do have our little 16 sitting here waiting for spring so at least we can go sit in her cockpit and pretend if we need to. Still think everyone otta head here for a gathering. Wayne is already trying to get here, though the 10th may not work. Will know about which days I'm helping someone get her boat in next few days. Will also keep folks appraised if we are heading down to Regent anytime soon but you don't need us to visit Pedroville, in fact may lobby to have Pedro head here.

Wish the snow was still here but long gone. :(

Well winter made a return, and so we returned to our mountain for the truly last skiing and boarding for the year, as Wintergreen will be done with the snow thing until next year. So who cares you may say....well it does mean we are gunna see the season out till last day which is now March 18. We are more than likely not going to return to Regent Point and our boat till after St. Paddies day. Guess we should be focusing upon CBMSG 3.0 as it will be here before ya know it!

I had also mentioned helping a new Compac 16 owner to go fetch her boat in the near future and she still is going to get her but the little 16 was demasted in the last storm that brought 80 mph wind gusts. She was left on a lift with the mainsail still on under a cover. The wind ripped off the cover then ripped the main sail and it appears from the pics she sent me that the port side stay let go. More than likely from what i can see the port stay backed out of the turnbuckle but until I can see it up close not sure. Regardless it now means a new tabernacle and cabin top repairs, a repair for the mainsail or a new one if not repairable, address any shroud and/or possible chainplate issues if any. If my assumptions are correct about the port shroud backing out of the turnbuckle then it should be a reminder to all of us to check those regularly and make sure they all have cotter pins or wire in place to prevent such things. Bummer.

The offer to be a tour guide to the breweries, wineries, distilleries, restaurants and music venues here in the center of the known universe sill stands!

Hey Wayne as mentioned above we are gunna be riding out the winter season up at Wintergreen. We do love our winter sports. Kinda thinking will be CBMSG before we are ready to host something at the boat but if folks wanna head to C'ville for a brewery tour of the area it doesn't take much to convince me!!

Peeked under the tarp over Mas today since i came off the mountain for some tasks and an evening of music tomorrow. Kinda imagined being at the helm!

Golly, maybe a mid winter gathering might have to be March next year. It was 80 degrees here back in late February and thought the winter season was done....but yet again another winter storm on the way.....might never want to come off of the mountain at this rate. Oh that's right, gotta get the boats ready for spring, except it refuses to be spring quite yet. Wintergreen officially closed their slopes for the season on Sunday, but they are seriously considering reopening them after this next round of snow. Winter Storm Watch already in effect, bring it on!

A little view of a cross trail to a double black slope last Tuesday after the last snow here. Bob hopefully ur getting a chance too use that x-country equipment. The only thing the golf course on the mountain is being used for right now is x-country skiing.  :)

Guess i should not be so selfish about all of this snow and pretending spring is not really here, since it is tomorrow (along with more snow!) and then it'll be summer and we all know what that brings.......CBMSG 3.0, August 4. Can taste the cold drinks, and hear the stories already.

We also will need to welcome a new Compac owner of a sweet 16! She is pretty excited about her new to her and first boat. No worries Bob, gunna collect the fee for ya! Have included a pic of the proud new owner and her boat! See i can actually keep boats the topic....sort of.  :)
