JERSEY SHORE TRAILER SAILERS

Tim Gardner

Damn, I hate to say I agree with Bob, and I won't.  I popped a Yeungling, and watched my neighbors compete with each other to see who could plow the most snow.  My driveway was cleared three times before the snow stopped falling.
I even switched to dark and stormy as I was entertaining shoveling - not!

Well, I believe that we should be a go for this weekend.  I will be at Dockside this Saturday at 11:30am.

FYI....It looks like they stop serving brunch at 12:00.  http://www.docksidetikibar.com/calendar/

My wife has to be at work so I will be alone.

I am looking forward to seeing some of you there.

Well pretty sore today so getting on slopes late! Three days inna row in the bumps and my legs refused to go along with my mind this morning1

Bob23 i had a similar snow shoveling program for years except i was younger and had to get it done but wanted to make it fun. The plan.....take a six pack and place beers at set intervals in the snow to be shoveled and once we got to beers it would be break time! Ah youth! Glad to hear you got some cross country in.

Yup the weather is looking almost springlike for the CBMWG so guess the cross country ski idea may not be doable at Dockside! Heave i am assuming that they will have a regular lunch menu after 12 right? Susan will be coming so PeterG's wife and family jewels will have company!

Well coffee is almost done and blue sky and snow are calling, so unless we have a last minute add we should have Myself and Susan, Heave, Bob23, PeterG and wife, K3vin. That sound right?

That sounds like a good gathering of folks.

There is a live band at 9:00pm but I know nothing of them.  That would be a long time to be there.

Ok i can't believe I'm saying this, but my not in shape for skiing, especially the bumps, legs are finally telling me it is time to find sea level and flat ground! Gunna be leaving the mountain tomorrow so we can turn around and head to the CBMWG! Looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone.

Heave i can pretty much guarantee we will not be hanging till the band starts. My guess is we will be lucky if we are not thrown out well before then!

What do ya say to a drunken sailor,
etc. you know the tune!

Actually since Bob23 has promised to be on good behavior i guess I can too!

LOL, while the retirement from marathon distance press conference took place this year, the retirement from skiing the bumps press conference took place a long time ago.:)

You folks have a great time at the CBMWG.  Wish I could be there.  I'm told that Bob23 is a man of his word with the exception of any claims to be on good behavior.

Yeah i'm a little slow on the shoulda given them up years ago. It's just too much fun! Till the next morning. :)

So Brackish, if you leave tomorrow you can be here by noon on Saturday. No since missing it when you can spend the better part of a day driving here!

Am I to understand Tim Gardner will be offering rides from Roanoke? Which means, am i to assume Tim Gardner is coming to CBMWG? If that is truly the case Brack you wouldn't have to drive at all! Just spend the time winging it up from down south to near the center of the known universe, where Tim would drive you within 5 mies of our farm (center of known universe) on the the way to Colonial Beach. If that is the case, the white stuff that you will be seeing everywhere simply laying on the ground...is snow. Know its only in pictures for you deep south types!

Wait: In re reading a few posts above, you state that I promised to be on my best behavior. And you believed me? Hahahaha. Although it's a lot of driving, we are looking forward to meeting you fellers and taking this road trip in my most unique automobile.

Hey, not to put a last minute damper on this get together but I've been reading some really bad online reviews of this place. There were varying opinions about the food and service but almost everyone I read came to the same conclusion:
"Beware the Dock Side"! Hahahahahahaha......Hahahahahahaa!!! Hahahahahaha!!!!  It doesn't take much to amuse me!

Mas

Well i think i qualified it a few pages ago when i said "Bob" behavior was all that was really expected as we didn't want folks to get a wrong idea!

I read the same reviews, some glowing others not so. Figured the location will be good and the food typical, slightly overpriced, fried, non gourmet, style. Hopefully the service will be good as how busy can it be on a Saturday lunch at the end of January. Heave sounds like you are the only one who has ever been there so don't hesitate to chime in! We are not going for the food, beer yes, company definitely!

Heck, we might as well go over to the Dockside, i can feel the force already!

While I do appreciate the various travel arrangements that have been suggested, I am preparing to travel in the opposite direction.  Going to Boerne, TX for my mothers 92nd birthday.  However prior to doing that I've agreed to sail with a young man who bought a Columbia 7.6 with no previous sailing experience and has been struggling along with what he could pick up from the internet.  So, at the exact time you folks will be doing the Saturday lunch and discussing how long it will take for the snow to melt, I will be sailing and attempting to impart my meager knowledge of the art on a newbie.  68F with winds at 10 SSW.

We do get snow in North Mississippi BTW, just none right now.

Bob23

Ahh...in the interest of full disclosure, I never read any reviews! I just needed a setting for my "Beware the Dock Side" wisecrack. When will you guys learn not to take me so seriously?  Hahahahahaha!
