Merry Christmas , congratulation and best  of luck in your new home! Your video was an inspiration for this old Compac 16 owner ( old owner, old boat). 
As for the house, my advice is plan, plan some more, double check your plans then go at it. You obviously have the skills you need and if I can judge by your yacht restoration your home will come out to be a great place to raise a family and store your future Compacs.

Thanks for the advice! Planning and re-planning is keeping me awake at night...I love it. The house is a cool bungalow from 1900. She's got great bones (unlike all the boat projects I have ever done) and craftsmen detailing that you hardily see anymore... and will never see in my price range

I'm really excited to get in there and start working. Also, thanks for the vote of confidence. Luckily my father is a retired carpenter and a true Yankee engineer, so I am happy to have him by my side and excited to join forces in our, most likely, last big project we'll pull off together.

As for the future boat projects: haha they are going to have to wait...according to my wife. But when I'm not thinking about this house I'm trying to imagine what my first boat project should be with my daughter. Or I should say second; "we" built a skiff together for her 2 month birthday.

Tim, I missed this first time through, but what a fabulous restoration and no apologies necessary for the video, very complete, descriptive and enjoyable.

In your case I think the video will sell the boat.  When folks buy an older boat they are always looking for and wary of the "hidden flaws".  In the case of your 16 there is nothing hidden, you exposed everything and have evidence of addressing all potential issues.  All the best to you with your "new" project certainly one worthy of priority status.

I second the question! I've been trying to figure out a good bow anchor set up for my 16, also.  Photos and/description would be appreciated!   Thanks for the great viddy- truly fun to watch.

PF and Yamaha, the bow roller is made by Garhauer. I think it is this one: https://www.garhauerstore.com/deck-blocks-hardware/bow-rollers/bow-roller-ar-30.html

I'll try and get some pictures up asap. They are on my old phone.
I made oversized G-10 backing plates for the roller and the hardware that I attached a (relatively) heavy turnbuckle to use as a bobstay.

The setup works great. Getting that foresail out over the bow has made a huge difference her sailing quality.
