The Fifth annual Mid Winter Gathering of the East Coast Compac-o-nauts was a smashing success! While the venue was a bit noisy, it was wonderful seeing Marty, Ryan, Allen and Suzie, Kev and Lesa and of course the Admiral made a rare appearance in public. Kev did some filming so hopefully we won't have to wait long before we all can view one of his award winning videos of this epic event!!
Now...it's down to business! Let's talk about the 11th annual Barnegat Bay Bash, shall we? Who will be brave enough to tarnish their reputation by attending this important ( and darn fun) event? I will start a thread soon.
Missing and missed was Brad Cutter (Elk River) who left us on Christmas Eve after a long battle with cancer. We raised our glasses and toasted his name.
For the cause, Bob 23.

We had a great time! Thanks to everyone who made it out and thanks Bob for organizing this fine gathering!

Nice get-together at Maggie's Waterfront Café on the Delaware River in Philly. Ryan, Allen and Suzie, Kev and Lesa, Linda and even our FAC, Bob joined together enjoying good food, drink and conversation. To those who couldn't make it, don't worry, we miss you and didn't bad mouth you and there is always next time! Now it's time to start to think about BBB-2017 at Tice's Shoals. Can't wait!

Marty K.

P.S. Got to see pics of Kev's Cape Dory 26... nice. Kev's "Tetra" is available to a loving ComPacOnaut and I hear he's looking for a very trailerable 16!

Well can't say we didn't talk about you all.....we at least tipped a beer to everyone! As far as BBB, sign me up! We were promised by Bob that he would wave the entry fee, drink to the fleet, I don't know something like that! We look forward to meeting more of our northern Compac O' Nauts. (Nod to St. Paddies day!)

Now Kevin, we tried to hook you up with a good deal on a 16 down here for CBMWG. Meanwhile this one has been on the market a long time up your neck of the woods, mostly cuz it's priced kinda high. Never know though.....  http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/62231.

Maybe we can tempt Marty, Ryan, Allen and Susie to join Kevin and Lisa along with Bob and Linda (for the first time!) to join us for CBMSG 2.0  We must disclose that such trips can be hazardous to your pocketbook, so many boats, so little time!

Fair winds to all, till in port again, Rick and Susan   :)

P.S. Bob, we will soon be at a party with the owner of "your" Flicka.........jus sayin!

what a great looking group!   I am sure that we missed out on good fun, fine food, and wonderful fellowship..  but so glad to hear that Bob is keeping the tradition  alive...  nice effort Bob...   see you in Maine this summer... feel free to bring along anyone else who wants to visit some of the greatest cruising grounds on the east coast!    jt

Twas a grand time, albeit the venue was a bit loud...so we just yelled louder!
I'll be on Cape Ann, Mass 7/22 through 7/24. Maybe a quick zip up to Maine after? Hmmm...we'll see.

Perfect!!! Well done, mate! Thanks for your expert videography! (is that a real word?)

MKBLK

Great job, Kevin (as always!). The GoPro does works really well. But, how come my hair doesn't show up!?

Bob - Yup, you got it! Videography refers to the process of capturing moving images on electronic media (e.g., videotape, direct to disk recording, or solid state storage) and even streaming media. The term includes methods of video production and post-production. It was initially equivalent of cinematography (moving images recorded on film stock). (from Bing)

It was heart warming to get together again and also meet new prospective BBB'ers.  (Is that a real word?)
We are looking forward to July!
Thanks to all.
