It's no secret that salty sailors enjoy their rum!  I'm curious what favorites are aboard Compac Sailboats.
So, jump in if you please posting your favorite at anchor beverage....:)

Don't leave home without it. After the rigors of getting underway and setting sails, a shot of Cannon Blast soothes the nerves as well as the aches and pains. Turns the day into a vacation.

On the rocks it would be Prichard's prior to finding a local distillery in Camden, NJ. Otherwise Goslings for a Dark N Stormy.

Just found this one...
A bit expensive, but not too bad.
Ice, a bit of waster, no mix needed.
Very smooth!

2nd choice is Gosling

I am pretty cheap when it comes to Rum, I guess.  I like Captain Morgan and the Kracken.  I mix with Coke Zero.

Hrm.....Dark and stormy is a great drink!  I forgot to mention that.  A black spiced rum, whiskey sour mix, and ginger beer.

A drop of Nelson's blood wouldn't do us any harm though is what I always say.

For the best Dark and Stormy, use (of course) Gosslings Black Seal rum, Crabbies alcoholic ginger beer, and a slice of lime. Then just sit back and enjoy life! Maine root ginger beer is also quite grand but the Crabbies alcoholic adds a certain turbo touch!

If rum it must be, Real McCoy for general application and Pussers for Painkillers!   Sipping requires Bookers bourbon..........

Yup. this group seems to be able to shift from cruise to booze mode with little provocation!

My favorite is the one in my glass! With that said we do like Dark and Stormys, made with Gosling Brothers (hey they thought it up!) and instead of ginger beer, which is not ginger ale, we use ginger kombucha (a fermented tea). Brewed on our farm and very dry, only 10 calories in the bottle and our's is oh so ginger laden. Shameless plug for our son's business here:  https://www.facebook.com/MountainCultureKombucha/

There are within a 30 minute drive from our home :
(if we kick it up to an hour there are too many to count)

over 15 wineries
over 10 breweries (not counting the one on our little farm)
over   5 cideries (hard cider)
over   3 distrilleries (vodka, whiskey, moonshine, no rum yet)

I say 'over' cuz we can't keep track of them as they just keep opening. Sure makes temperance difficult. Going to yet again another new one today for Valentines night out.   :)

Gosling's Black Seal; haven't tried their Golden, but hear it is good. I only drink the GBS with ginger beer for Dark & Stormy, and I have ranged around from just Barrett's. I like Bob23's idea of the Crabby's.

I can't have any of the above, due to blood sugar issues I am trying to fix.

So, I can have a drink of something low carb now and then.

For now, it's brandy and club soda.

Brugal Anejo from Dominican Republic but available here in the states.  It is aged and really smooth, not expensive.  We used to bring cases of it back for gifts when I was a schooner bum in the Caribbean. Enjoy!
