Hello Folks,

I wanted to take a moment to say hello and thank you!

After learning some sailing basics crewing on a boat for the past year or so, my wife and I decided to begin looking for our own small boat to continue our education. We weren't in a big rush. We enjoyed walking around the marinas looking at different boats and figuring out what we liked and didn't like. We came across a small, interesting looking boat with a "for sale" sign clipped to it. It seemed perfect for us. After doing a ton of reading about the Com-Pac 19, including posts from many of you here, we decided to pull the trigger. This is our first sailboat and we couldn't be happier.

So, thanks and we look forward to chatting with you all here!

Cheers!

What's the hull number of you 19? Oh, ignore Bob23 the Italian Gallion PBR beer drinker. ???? He'll try to extort initiation fees to pad his beer quaffer's fund.

That's a good boat to get your feet wet on. So to speak. What's the hull number?

Thanks for the welcome all!

I've updated my profile pic and signature with homeport.

The hull number is ABV00117M83D. Does that make this boat hull 117? She's a 1983 Compac-19.

Yes, welcome Wayne and Dogstar! And are you guys ever in luck! Normally, membership here runs upwards of $5000.00 payable of course to me either in cash or PBR in cans only. But we're running a Christmas special this week and if you each send me $4995.00, I'll not only waive the initiation, but either Salty or Tim Gardner will show up at your house next spring to bottom paint your boats!!! I wouldn't let this deal go by...our operators are standing by!!!

Hey Wayne and Dogstar, don't fret over the membership fees, I have already now weathered my first year here on the forum and can say.....yup $4995.00 is quite the deal! Having Tim and Salty paint your boats sounds like such a deal as well! They both were trained by the Jackson Pollack school of painting.  :)

Hey Wayne, finally got that missing PM! Go figure! Will reach out bout this coming weeks and my timing down there. So Dogstar where do you guys plan to call your home port? Anywhere near us on the Southern Bay?

All kidding aside this is a great group of folks, many of whom i have had the pleasure of meeting. Welcome.

This membership fee arrangement you have purveyed for years now has gone too far, Bob, and it's high time we make some changes. I hereby proclaim all CP19 owner membership fees payable to the three site admins who sail 19's...MacGuyver, Tim Gardner and yours truly only.  We have safety in numbers and won't take no for an answer on this.

Oh, and paintin' bottoms'....shee-yaah--right!  :-D

I second that emotion! Of the four active Fleet Admirals, Bro Bob23 just got junta-ed!  In fact, in many of the movies I've seen lately, Bob seems to be the best laborer around.
Why, I'd say Bob needs to be designated bottom whomper from here on out.

Yeah, That's the ticket!
