To VectorDirector and all other Com-Pac sailors on or around Charlotte Harbor, I'd like to suggest we get together some day over a cold beer to discuss our boats and maybe make some plans for a short cruise. This is an exceptional cruising area, and if you haven't yet ventured beyond the horizon, this could be your opportunity to enjoy some local cruising in good company. I've done a number of these with different groups and have some of my best memories as a result.

If interested, please give a shout out. You can call me at 941-876-0422.

Count me in Ron.  Here for a couple of weeks, back Dec 31.  Love to get together.  I will bring X Suncat owner too.  I will call this afternoon.

I'm in for a beer.  Not much of a cruiser though.  I like my comfy bed and swimming pool too much.

Hi,

Looking at the weather forecast for the week.  Tomorrow looks perfect for sailing so I'm looking at going out.  Wednesday and Thursday look fairly nice but no wind.

Since the wind looks light, I'll put it out there to see if anyone is interested:  Meet at my dock on either day around 10-11 ish and we can cruise my Power Cat down to Burnt Store Marina, Cabbage Key, North Captiva, or anywhere else that sounds good, for a leisurely lunch.  Or we can go out and cruise around, then to Fisherman's Village and have lunch at Scottie's brewpub.  Or we could each pack a lunch and anchor out somewhere and chat, eat, and have a few cold ones.

Let me know what you think.  She's gassed up and ready to go.

I just got back from anchoring out for the night to see the super moon at Pelican Bay in my Compac Eclipse.  Had a great sail over from Bokeelia on Pine Island.  I would be interested in meeting some of my fellow Compac sailors.  I would be available on Thursday of this week.

My Horizon Cat is up in NJ, but I'd like to get together with you guys one day. I've got a 28 foot Telstar trimaran down here in Punta Gorda.

Hi all,

Glad to see you back Ron, saw you out sailing, on Sunday I believe.  You were coming back in as we were headed out on Arthur's Cape Dory.  Lovely day, lots of boats out sailing and the wind picked up a bit after you headed in.  The Telstar is a great boat, loved the ride.   I may buy one.

I'm booked until the end of the month with family coming down.  Free the first 3 weeks of December until I head north for a week around Christmas.  I'm back down around the first of the new year.

Fair winds and Happy Holidays,

Bryan -

We may have something in common. I may sell one. Between the bad shoulder and knee, I'm getting to the point where sailing it could become a problem. I can no longer get the mast up or down and sails on or off by myself. I'd bring the Horizon down here if that happens. Much easier to rig and sail.

I may go out tomorrow (Thursday) if you're interested.

Ron,

Sorry to hear about your health issues.  Old injuries aren't fun when they come back to haunt.  I was ejected from a car about 25 years ago and I have a bad back because of it.  The older I get the worse it gets.  Moving around actually helps.  Sitting in a chair all day doesn't.

I'm pretty set on snowbirding next summer and shipping the Eclipse back up to Lake Geneva, WI to sail there in the summer.  I am planning on spending winters here in Punta Gorda and I"ll be looking for a sailboat to sail here.  I am pretty set on a multi hull and have to decide which one suits my type of sailing the best.  Looking at under thirty feet with a real marine head for the ladies.  Day sailing mostly, maybe the occasional overnight at Pelican Bay for two.  Something built in the last 15 years Not interested in cruising.  Not much that fills that list.  Telstar for sure and maybe some of the Corsairs.  If all goes as planned I'll be in the market for a boat late next summer.

I have to take a rain check tomorrrow.  Deb is flying in from Chicago. I'll be free after the first of December.

See ya on the water.
