My Compac 19 trailer bunks  (top bunks) are in need of replacement.   Has anyone ever used the new polyethylene bunks.   Seems like a good idea....strong....impervious to rot.....no need for carpet maybe?

Or maybe most use wood covered with carpet for a reason.  I welcome all comments.

Is your bottom painted or not?  If not, I might be concerned with the plastic scratching the gel coat. I painted, then maybe not as much of a concern.
