A good time to haul out

Last week I put Saga on her trailer.  I had a feeling that the season was over and I wasn't going to make it down there much.

That turned out to be a good decision.  Since then we have had some serious coastal flooding where the water was a foot over my dock.  There has been a lot of rain, and now the track for Hurricane Matthew is threatening the East Coast.  I feel much better with the mast down, the boat on the trailer, and all equipment is stowed away.  So far the worst wind forecast for my area shows 40mph winds.  Since the boat is on the trailer and packed away for driving 60mph down the road it should be okay.

Right now I am feeling lucky that I put her away early.

Heave,
You can drive over to SML and sail all winter  with  the 50 mile crew

SML doesn't freeze over during the winter.  That is in a cooler area then where I keep my boat and we get ice on the river.  I have seen the Potomac River frozen over but it has been a very long time since that has happened.
