Just bought a Compaq 23 in excellent condition and very happy with her have always wanted one as a kid but now I am a big kid so finally bought one. I am looking for a Bimini but Hutchins is quite pricey but I do want stainless any ideas suggestions please Thank you Florida is too hot w/o

I see this is your first post, welcome to the forum.

FYI, I moved your post to here in the lounge for better visibility.

I recall some folks have bought bikini's from overtons.com after carefully measuring the height, width and depth needed.  Remember you can cut it down to be shorter, but not wider or deeper.  Another consideration is the attachment point.  This is usually between the genoa tracks and the coaming, paying attention to not blocking genoa sheet routing.

I think the Com-pac version comes with mounting tracks and cover (not sure about that) which might explain the higher price. Do know that the Com-pac sourced bimini is top notch quality, and you get what you pay for with them.

Hopefully someone will pipe in with a part number recommendation, or you could go to the CP23 section and use the search function to get your answer. More economical versions are out there...

I have a bimini and dodger on my boat.  They have aluminum frames and I understand why you may want to have stainless steel.  I want stainless steel but the aluminum works okay with the size of the canvas on the biminis and dodgers.

Check with some of your local canvas makers. 

One other thing that you can do that saves a lot of money is to make your own.  Check out www.sailrite.com for parts and accessories.  They even have a make your own bimini kit.  The sewing isn't too bad and I have some canvas work that I have done on my boat.
