Jib sheet suggestions

Trying to get boat back in the water for the season.
I know I have seen suggestions in the past for devices to help the jib sheet come across without snafus on the side shrouds.
I am considering a piece of pvc pipe the would fit over the turn uncle before I raise the mast.
Any thoughts?

Don't use a bowline. A soft shackle or just a single line looped through the jib in the middle is smaller and rarely catches on the shrouds.
