How much is a fair price

What do you all think is a fair price for a 1993 Compac 23 in good condition.  No trailer,  newer Tohatsu motor.

The sails are functional but not new by any means.  No major flaws,  but not in mint condition either.  No electronic toys either,  just the boat and the motor.

I paid 7500 for the same boat and motor, 1990, no trailer, original owner, nice clean and unmolested condition...........so I would think that the '93 would be in the same ballpark and up to maybe 9k- depends on how bad you want it! By the time I was done buying a trailer, a new sail, instruments, autopilot, etc etc, I have at least four or five grand more in the package............but then, a new one equipped like mine would really be out of reach.

Story of my life,  a day late and a dollar short.  I don't know how I missed this one,  but I find the Sailing TX website kind of hard to search and therefore avoid it.

If you are friendly with any yacht brokers, or marine surveyors with American Society of Appraisers certification (only thirty or so in the US), ask them to tap into their SoldBoats database.  An extension of YachtWorld, it lists sold prices for yachts, in a manner somewhat similar to real property multiple listing services.  I downloaded sales data on several small yacht lines before canceling my $450/year subscription a few months ago when I decided to retire.  But didn't bother accessing the CP23.  That was too much boat for my little Chevy truck.  A search for CP19s got me a list of 24 sales, along with the entire offering ad for each vessel sold.  I've used that service for years appraising vessels.  Blue, green, yellow price books and the like do not actually appraise values.  SoldBoats is the best.
