Buddy and his sailing partner Commodore Tim Gardner drove down to New Bern to take possession of a set of C-27 cockpit cushions.  Buddy had never seen a C-27 so we took Tim down to the marina and checked out Windrunner.  Although the wind was iffy Buddy convinced Tim and I that we should go for a spin around the Neuse between the bridges.  Tim was able to expand his C-19 skills up to taking the con under Buddy's close scrutiny and I ran the sails.  Had a great time swapping sea stories and sailing until Buddy had to get on the road back to Va.

Buddy is a chick magnet.  I think of all the money that I have squandered in my youth on Triumphs, TR-4A &TR-6, Jenson-Healy, and a Porsche, when all that I would have had to do was own a pick up and a (I hesitate to say cute, because Buddy might be offended) 'handsome' pup.  What a Sea Dog.

Thanks Buddy and Tim for a great sail.

regards charlie

PS This is a great blog.  I have now met 3 contributing sailors each a friendly character, worth meeting, and good to know.

Proof: Buddy the (chick magnet) Sea Dog and  Charlie"

Thanks Charlie for the Cushions.  They fit the 19 cockpit benches as if they were made for it.

Charlie was kind re my sailing abilities.  I've never had to sight the masthead fly through a stay hole before. The last time I skippered a sailboat on salt (Brackish?) water I was 21 - a mere 42 years ago.

It was nice not to have to tack my clew off as I do sometimes on Smith Mountain Lake.

Buddy and I had a great time. And Charlie Deisher  is a great Cruise Director.   Windrunner sails like a big 19.  I may have 7 foot-itis.
