For those of us with iPhones, there is a nice free app out there that is pretty cool.  It is called SeaStatus Marine Weather.  It will tell you wind speeds and wave heights in various areas.  It looks pretty nice and gives you important information.

Go to App Store.
Search SeaStatus
The App should pop up in the search.  Download it.

I downloaded it; it will be okay if I live in Beaufort. Heck, it does say Sea, haha. Looks cool, but I will need to stick with Windfinder, Weatherbug, iHurricane, & MyRadar. I am trying to use SailFlow as well, just not quite there yet.

For my issues, I need to know the weather 3 hours away from home to decide whether to go on a given day, and I need to have it for current conditions where I am.

I sure appreciate the pointer to SeaStatus, though, because I DO hope to go to Beaufort some time.

I spend my cruising time in the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay.  This app is going to be useful for this.

Nothing can beat a real time radar when trying to figure out if a storm is bearing down on you.  Being able to access it on a phone is priceless.
