Went out for a glorious evening sail on Barnegat bay today and my passenger somehow got the dock line tangled in the deck fitting where the anchor rode comes out of the locker. On my mark 2 it's round with a hinged cap. He yanked on the line and...snap busted. Want to get a new one but haven't a clue what to call it. Checked compac's website and looked at the parts list for the 23 with no luck. Any help is always appreciated.

I can't even begin to tell you how nice it is to talk with Compac.  I have exchanged several emails with Gary himself.  They care about the boats and they support the owners.  Give them a call and they will help you.  I just ordered a new bobstay from them.

If you plan to replace the hawse pipe I would recommend going with the larger oval design rather than the original round one. I did that on my boat to accommodate a larger shackle and to make it easier to stuff chain/rode into the anchor locker. It's a pretty easy alteration if you have a rotozip tool.
