dont worry there really arent any rules and regs (except have fun). what i wanted to ask is should the clr (carlyle lake rendezvous) be restricted to only boats made by hutchins? this year i bought a catalina capri 18 but i did keep my com-pac 16. i plan on using the capri at the rendezvous since it has lots more room and is more comfortable and i know that two other clr sailors, mike and brenda greene will be aboard their "new" o day 25 (trailering it from wisconsin). i dont want our yearly get together to get too large but i think maybe we should open it up to at least friends of sailors on the site who have other trailer sailers. i just want to know how everyone feels about this. even if i do sell the 16, my wife and i want to continue to host the clr for years to come. we have had some great times and have met and made friends with the best people possible.

I have not attended in the past and cannot this year but my opinion is that it should be open.  It is about and made good by the people, not the boats.

I've attended the B.E.E.R cruise in Pensacola a number of times which started out as a trailer sailor event, then as time moved on big boats started coming.  About 50 boats every year.  I really enjoyed seeing all those boats that I was not necessarily familiar with.

With the only real promotion on the CPYOA, I doubt that it would get too big to handle and most non ComPac attendees would normally be former owners of the brand.

I think it should be open, it certainly wouldn't hurt. And maybe just advertise here, and that way the word will spread to the friends by word of mouth. This way it will keep it just right in size.

Maybe have a central person to respond to as far as "Hey I am attending" so a accurate head count can be attained...... Or we could turn the Saturday night awards banquet and ceremony/Group fun time, into a pay to go, and maybe get something like pulled pork from in town or something of the like. This way it isn't a bunch of work to get that going (If I remember right you and Sarah and some others make the food?)

Remember that horrible pie my wife made? HAHAHHAHAHHAHAH

Well since I haven't been to any CLR and probably never will, I really have no say but that never stopped me from shooting my mouth off before!
I think Brack nailed it quite well. And we had this discussion when it came to the Famous Barnegat Bay Bash. It was open to Compac owners and those who wished they were. Pretty much covered it, eh?
Can't wait to hear about this years event. My brother in law was thinking about bringing his small plane up from Texas and keeping here in NJ for the summer near his summer house. I wonder how far, by air it would be? And could I strap my Guideboat on the side? Hmmm.....
