com-pac 16 for sale near st louis

 my 1981 com-pac 16-1 is up for sale. included is a majic tilt trailer with four wheels and tires, 2 hp johnson 2 stroke outboard. the boat has two jibs--a 110 on a furler (my design) and a 135 genoa (which i used as a drifter). both sails can be changed back to hank ons (i have the hanks). the main is two years old rolly tasker with numbers. the boat is also equipped with an ida rudder.  price$2200 firm  contact me at fordtruck52@yahoo.

   i have suspended the sail of my 16 indefinitely. i have recently purchased a larger boat . if the larger boat fits our needs the com-pac will again be on the market. thanks

    87 catalina capri 18-----it is in perfect condition. hope i didnt bite off more than we could chew. it needs absolutely nothing. the 16 will remain in case we change our minds regarding the capri. first thing i have to do is practice stepping the mast.

Good for you. You shouldn't have a hard time, I stepped mine by myself all the time and you are a taller than me. You do want to rig a line back to the mast to tighten the jib halyard until you pin the forestay. When I dropped it I had to give a little push to start her back-then ease the line. Btw no wing on that model is there?

 matt, this one doesnot have the wing and the keel is in excellent shape as is the whole boat. a question on mast stepping. i understand that the front lower shrouds have to be loosened  or disconnected from the chainplates before step the mast. i figured that the backstay would have to be loose but not the shrouds. the boat came with the extended mast crutch (easy up) which should help. im thinking of implementing carls idea the putting a block forward and running the jib halyard though that and then pulling on the sheet until the mast is up and then cleating the sheet off while i affix the forstay and furler. doesthat sound reasonable? send me an e mail   fordtruck52 @yahoo and we can talk more about it. i have decided to keep my 16 until i get fully comfortable with the capri. that gives me a plan b to fall back on. thanks---
