I am not sure how much you need but I just picked up a few tubes to re caulk my 19's seam at Lowes fot $4.79 each which I thought is a pretty good price

No. You'll need much more and it's 3M-5200 SLOW SET.

Hey Matt, that is a heck of a deal on 5200. 

Interesting that it says "3M 12.8-oz White Sanded Polyurethane Specialty Caulk" I do not think that 5200 comes with sand in it like some other calks that mimic mortar.

At that price you could use a couple of tubes!

To clarify Skip's comment, I don't believe 3M actually calls any of the 5200 products "slow set." They offer 5200 in the standard version and "fast cure." I think Skip is suggesting the regular version.

Is the fast cure 5200 not as good or strong as the regular?

Note the 'bond' will no better then how clean and dry the two surfaces being bond together are. Lets continue. The book says ...

The 3-M 5200 Slow-set has a tad more tensile strength and Fast-set is a tad less tensile strength.
Read; it has a slow solvent vs. a fast [hot] solvent. The slower the better. Better penetration.

--> This high performance polyurethane adhesive sealant becomes tack-free in 24-48 hours, and completely cures in 5-7 days with no shrinking. The seal is extremely strong, retaining its strength above or below the waterline. 5200 stays flexible and allows for structural movement.

Consider using 5200 Fast Cure instead if the quickest possible cure rate is a consideration. It has slightly less tensile strength, but provides full cure in as little as 24 hours. <--

3M 5200 is a single part sealant that cures to form a firm, rubbery waterproof seal. When fully cured, this high strength marine adhesive remains flexible and suitable for use where shock, vibration, shrinking or swelling are concerns.

Use 5200 on wood, fiberglass, hardware, motors, on fiberglass transoms, seams, joints, between struts, and planking stern joints. This permanent adhesive bonds and seals: fiberglass deck to hull, wood to fiberglass, portholes and deck fittings, motors on fiberglass transoms, under moldings, hull seams above and below water line, centerboard trunk joints, between struts and planking, stern joints and more.

Apply with a manual caulking gun. Sealant remains workable with a trowel or spatula for up to four hours, and won't sag or flow in vertical or horizontal seams.

I like it, most sailors around here don't, ... like the way Slow-set keeps dripping for hours giving me time to watch it cure.
But then again I 'Luv's to watch paint dry. Just me.
