I have a 1982 cp 19, and  im wondering what the factory motor mount was, I have a hydraulic assisted OMC on mine, which you push on to lower and push again to come up. Im thinking about buying a Torquedo elec. motor , which can be a problem because the tiller doesn't move, but with my motor mount in the up position , I think it will clear the transom. someone said they have the original mount and have no problem?Anyone have any experience with these. I talked to gil, who has a remote setup that seems to work .

I have the Torqeedo Electric and I have a 1986 CP 19 with the original motor mount. I have no problem with this set up. With the shaft length of the Torqeedo, I don't need to lower the mount all the way, just a couple notches. The tiller rests a bit on the transom but does not interfere with functioning at all. I used it this way all last season. I've seen Gil's set up and it works perfectly.  He has a newer motor mount which made it necessary for the remote set up, so don't know if your motor mount is more like Gil's or the original.  By the way, the Torqeedo is one of the best investments I've made on my boat! Love it!

The factory motor mount for the CP-19 came right out of the West Marine Catalog good for a 20 hp engine.
You can see it on line.
