Hiya,

I just bought a 1980 CP 23 which I'll need to add an outboard to, and then take upriver to her new home. I have a friend in the boat biz, who is going to sell me a used Evinrude 7.5 for this boat.

She is a Mark 1, but has an added bowsprit, looks much more substantial than the stock bowsprit. I will take some pictures and post if I get down there this weekend. There being Oriental NC; here being Raleigh NC.

I'm looking forward to this boat; I 've sailed on many CP 23s with others, and the hull shape and heft of her is perfect for the Neuse River and going out to Cape Lookout from Beaufort. Other cool places around too.

I'm looking forward to learning more about the boat; I might not be sailing her much for awhile, but I have just a few projects to work on that I might get done soon:

a. there's a cleat that needs re-bedding, re-backing too, perhaps
b. there's a fitting on the bow for the spinnaker that needs a new better backing plate
c. I want a deckpipe for the anchor rode; oh, is there something to tie off the bitter end to down below?
d. cabin roof needs some glass behind the stern facing edge to stiffen and stengthen it.
e. other stuff I find as I look around; always something!

Regards,

Bruce

welcome to the site, and congrats on your new purchase.   I imagine that the weather in your area is still somewhat conducive to sailing - that is an extra benefit for sure.  good luck with your projects..  we will all be looking forward to seeing some pics!   jt
