I wanted to share with you all what I have planned for the CPYOA, so you know what to expect, and, if you'd like, what you can do to help contribute.

---------------------------------------------

I don't have a Mission Statement, other than I would like the CPYOA to be an owners site that sets a precedent for quality of information, and quantity of participation, about, for, and among its target audience (that's you!).

I'd really like Com-Pac owners to have an internet "community" that other sailboat owners groups strive to emulate. To that end, my responsibility and committment will be to provide all of you with the tools necessary to contribute as easily and as frequently as you would like. In return, I'd like it if all Com-Pac owners would be a part of not only the information on this site, but also be a force in shaping how the site content evolves. It's our site, we've got a free hand - let's kick some butt!

To that end, anyone who feels motivated to help whip the CPYOA into shape (with my Thanks!) should contact me via PM or email, and we'll work together towards creating an awesome website for both CP owners and the general public who are interested in our brand of sailboats.

---------------------------------------------

The next few weeks will be spent primarily getting the interactive parts of the site up and running well. Right now the fastest growing parts of the site should be this Forum, and maybe the Classifieds (Anyone wants to be a Classifieds editor?). After these 2 sections are doing well, I'll devote more time to moving over articles and other info from the "old" site.

I think that the Forum content is a big priority, since this is likely where folks new and old to Com-Pacs will come first if they have a question, or are hoping to do some research. The FAQ's section, once fleshed out, could help us avoid feeling obligated to answer "the same old questions" we see many times over in the course of a year on the Yahoo page. I'll start a "FAQ's" thread in the "Com-Paq FAQ's" area, and also one in each of the "Model Specific" categories, where Q&A pertaining to a particular CP model could go. Feel free to throw in suggestions as to what you think would be good content for these in the appropriate areas.

Of course, also feel free to go ahead and start contributing to the Forum in general.

Sea ya -
