Hi Guys,
Bob Burgess here.  My most sincere thanks to all of you who took the time to tell me what my book Handbook of Trailer Sailing meant to you. It was of considerable interest to me that many of you mentioned that the last chapter that told about trailering our two ComPac 16s to Key West and sailing on to the Marquesas was for them one of the best parts of the book. Which made me wonder if you readers would be interested in more of my sailing adventures and how they turned out. So, in time I rounded up all those trips that I had written for sailing magazines or in chapters of my other books and put them all together in one very big book on that subject. It just came out with 420 photographs and I though that some of you might like to know about it. Sadly no traditional publisher was willing to take on that large a book that might be of interest only to sailboaters. But Amazon has provided the wherewithall in an e-book format that any of you can read if you have either a Kindle device or cares to have the free reader installed on their computer. I read and thoroughly enjoyed Handbook of Trailer Sailing, thanks so much for your stories and Com-pac specific writings.
They do mean a lot to the Com-pac community.

The Admiral just purchased the new book for me on Kindle.   

Do you still sail the 16 or 19?

Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I still sail both ComPacs. I had put rolller furling on the 19 and enjoyed it so I added it to the 16 and it has been great. Also sail my Hobie 16 named Kat Baloo and am putting a sail on a kayak next spring.

I hope you enjoy the book. Give it a review if you do. And please give my best wishes to that very thoughtful Admiral of yours. We all need Admirals like that with such good taste.

Good for you and your Purser, Tom. Ideally, if it is to be a main dish 1/2 pound of Emmentale Swiss and 1/2 pound of Gruyere Swiss makes a fine fondue. We sometimes carried the ingredients ashore with a small backpacker's stove and made it on the beach beside a driftwood fire. Terrific. Not sure I know what this response with a quote is supposed to be but wanted to tell you Bob that I envy you that trip. You should have a ball doing it in your 23. I live so far out in the boonies that I have no contact with sailors period. Wish we were closer and could do some of these trips together. My last book covers lots of adventures and they were all fun. I've found that the more you can keep all these things simple the better you are for it.
