Shade is great, esp in July and August.

I was thinking of a bimini myself; didn't have one on last boat, but all previous ones did, two that I bought for the boat. I will try to figure out a sliding track placement that gets the forward position to overlap the cockpit, and the rearward position to help me when I sail.  That forward one isn't as important I guess, because I can also put a tarp up there.

I've got to get used to the end boom sheeting as well. Be interesting to see your conversion on that.

   I hear you on the shade thing. This is where PeterG's track location on the cabintop makes a lot of sense. The bimini then can be placed to provide perfect shade almost anywhere in the cockpit.
   Cold weather coming here in NJ also. After all, it is winter!
