The Com-Pac Fleet at Lake Nockamixon had a little meet up this afternoon .
4 of us showed up all sailing CP-19s.   It was a great day on the lake and fun sailing with other Com-Pac's. Mine of course was worst one out of the bunch hopefully by next summer I can get her looking as good as the rest of the fleet

Wow, Matt great photos! Lale Nockamixon looks like a great place to sail and the fall colors are just starting. I know there are a couple of other Compac-o-nauts who've sailed there.
Looks like your 19 has no lifelines or stanchions...clean look but a bit hairy going forward, eh?
"Worst one out of the bunch"? Who's keeping track? All our boats are a work in progress...none of us are ever really done. If they provide sailing enjoyment for us, they are reaching thier intended purpose.

Great Day, Great Sailors, Great Boats . . . my black hull number 184 celebrated its 30th birthday this year. The Hutchinson family should be proud of their creations!

Thanx skip.

I sailed alongside a CP16 yesterday and talked to those aboard.

There were two Com-pacs.  Does that make us a fleet?

They have a mooring on the other side of Pleasant Bay and were sailing to Arey's Pond to haul out.  I hadn't noticed them before.  Four young people (compared to me) aboard.  They said they just bought the boat last fall.  It might be the same CP16 that at one time had a mooring in Town Cove in Orleans but if so that would not be the most recent prior owner.  I look for them next season.

Nice fleet of four you got there.  Great that you are all CP19s.  Should make it easy to factor in PHRF handicaps when you are sailing alongside and pretending not to be racing each other.

Thanks guys

I believe there are 5 CP 19's,1 CP16 and 1 CP23 in the fleet and maybe a Sun Cat.
As for the race it wasn't me :-)

There where a few other interesting things going on that day besides four awesome Com-Pac 19's sailing. There was wedding going on at the park right on the lake and you could hear the wedding music while sailing.  There was a big dog on a little sailboat. A mast less sail boat and my favorite the Park rangers pulling over a steam boat

These pictures are enough to induce 3'itis....
What is the seated headroom in a CP-19?

Cheers

I couldn't help but notice the Precision 15. A good friend of mine bought one new about 4 years ago. He just turned 84 and has decided that his days of boat ownership have come to an end so he gave me the boat and trailer. "Honest, honey- it just followed me home".
It's a P15 keel but I'm gonna investigate converting to a centerboard. Interesting boat...not very fast but very stable. I'm gonna probably moor it next summer near Koinonia and have it available for anyone to just borrow and sail.
The nice thing about this boat is it's easily trailered so I can expand my sailing grounds. Gonna keep the name.

Hey there ComPac fleet!

Just fair warning that Marty K. and JT are planning to sail your waters in CP16 Pegasus come tomorrow (Saturday).  ;D  Pray to the wind gods for a little air! We look forward to seeing the beautiful change of colors and meeting up with new (for us) ComPac sailors.

Thanks for posting all those wonderful pics, very nice. A steamboat? How cool (or maybe hot). Pulled over for what? More than 9.9 hp? How can you tell?  ???

See ya maƱana,

Marty K.

I get the feeling that I'll get no rest until I show up at CLR, even if it's only with a boogie board! Don't know what I'm gonna do with this boat...it's a P15k which means wing keel drawing 18". I  might try to convert it to a centerboard so I can explore super-thin waters. The admiral has already expressed her displeasure at "yet another boat". Of course, my response is, as always:
"One wife, many boats". I shoulda been a lawyer!

Hey Marty did you make it home ?  I was mistaken about  location of the park office.  We must have passed it and I did not realize it.  Hopefully you got everything sorted out.

It was good meeting you and JT today

Hey matt,  great to meet you this afternoon.. i guess marty and I should have been there last week when there was some wind!   but, we had a great day on the water  just the same..    i hope that you will put barnegat bay bash  2014 on your calendar for next year..   if the boat is not ready for that trip, you might always join as crew..    jt
