Last weekend I returned from Atlanta Ga. where I purchased a 19 III, hull no. 536. It was a long trip from San Marcos Tx in the Texas Hill Country to Williamsom Ga(Just south of Atlanta), but the trip was worthwhile. The boat seems to be in excellent shape and I am very oleased with my purchase. This is actually my 2 nd Com Pac 19. I owned another one about 12 years ago, so I was familiar with the 19 and knew it was what I wanted.

I have been doing a lot of reading on the owners forum and have already gained a lot of helpful information.

I will be typing to more of you soon.

Welcome Richard,
I bought mine in Pennsylvania and trailered it back to Michigan a couple of years ago.  I have heard people say the two best days of owning a boat are the day you bought it and the day you sold it.  That's funny, but for me not true at all.  I love my boat, that day trailering it was fun if not nailbiting stress, but I love washing it, detailing, adjusting, sailing, looking at it in the fog, watching our friend the king fisher perched on the mast top, sailing at night with hot chocolate, flying the spinnaker, and fishing off the bow.
Any way, enjoy, and welcome!

Thanks Marcus. I have been reading some of your posts and have found them full of good info.

I have owned or been owned by my CP19 for 24 years.  They are great boats...I never tire of looking at her perky sheerline or sailing the bay in a brisk breeze with her.  Congratulations!

Thanks Deborah. I passed through Mobile going to pick up my 19 in Atlanta, although I went back via Interstate 20. I was trying to miss some of the "reconstruction" traffic on I 10.

Which hurricane were we reconstructing from?

Deborah Klaus

A couple of months ago we were reconstructing from all of them....hahahahahahahah

HAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAA nothing. In a few months the same will happen all over again.
It would be cheaper to dis-allow any building within oh say 9 miles off the beach. Let the storm come a shore. I here that the mafia money is buying up the beach property asap from Fla to Tex. That so? skip.

Deborah Klaus

I have no idea who is buying what....I know that condo is king and most beachfront is being developed for condo construction.  If I offended you with my laugh I apologize....I have lived on the water for 54 years.  I am used to hurricanes.  However, I do not live in a million dollar house-- I live in an old wooden house that if it blows or washes away, so what?  I will rebuild something simple and AFFORDABLE again.  As far as moving inland--no, I won't.  However, I don't live on the beach but a bayou....I would not build on the beach--wasted effort.  Many are angry because government assistance has allowed people to build on land that shouldn't be developed.  I certainly understand their position, but money in large amounts makes the world go around.  If you can figure out how to change that--more power to you.

Craig Weis

Perfect!! Hear here. I agree 100% skip.

After re-reading these posts I have a deep and satisfying regard for my CP 19. She is nothing short of a lovely woman. skip

I couldn't agree with you more....my old Com-Pac is still my sweetheart....They are forgiving comfortable boats while are not fast very steady.....
