I am looking to buy a used set of sails (Main sail, Jib)  for a ComPac 16/2  7/8 rig.   The ones I have are ragged but I am not ready to buy new ones just yet.  I was looking for something to get through the summer on.

Mack, did you ever find some used sails to buy?  I have a very soft set from a 1981 CP-16, a little re-stitching is needed and there's a tiny hole in the jib.  Let me know if you have any interest!

There are a number of lofts that sell used and repaired sails. Goggle 'em...you'll find some bargains!

Thanks for the replies!   I have been out of town for a few weeks and haven't checked here much.  I never did find another set of sails.  How much are you asking for them?

Oops, I just noticed that you have a 16/2--that's with the bowsprit, right?  Mine is a 16/1, no bowsprit 7/8 rig.  BUT if you wanted to give these a try, how about $125 and I'll ship them to you in the continental USA?

These came with a 1981 CP-16 which is very original and bare bones--don't know if these are the original sails or not.  They have a sail bag and a mainsail cover.  The main has 1 reef point, and has 5/16 plastic slugs with SS shackles.  The jib seems to be a 150% genoa, and has bronze snap shackles.  They have the ComPac logo plus the hull number of my boat, 710--I don't think there's a loft name on them.  Oh wait, maybe I pulled off the red arrow at the clew because it was peeling--is that North Sails?  I washed them in the spring, so they are a nice pale gray-tan and smell great!  Let me know what you think, and we can switch to PM if you want to buy.  Thanks--  Gretchen
