First and foremost thanks to all who serve our country.  It is because of you and those before you that we enjoy the lives and freedom we have.

Brenda and I have really been neglecting Wrinkles as we have been busy prepping our house and land for sale.  I built the house myself 16 years ago and it has been a great place to live and raise a family.  Now that it is an empty nest we are ready to move on to our next adventure.  We have done a lot of work trying to make up for the last few years of neglect (sailing instead of yard work) so we have plenty of work to do.  We have completed quite a bit of the work these past 4 weeks, so we are rewarding ourselves with four days of sailing.

We dropped Wrinkles in the water this afternoon and had four hours of peaceful sailing in gentle winds.  The temperatures aren't the greatest, but we refuse to be fair weather sailors.

We sailed into our favorite protected bay and set the anchor a couple hundred yards from another hardy sailor.  Another sailboat ghosted in just after dusk to share the anchorage for the night.  A nearly full moon is rising as we sip on our sundowners and simply enjoy an evening bobbing gently in the waves.

As the wind picked up the cozy cabin basking in the warm glow of our oil lantern was calling our names.  A good book, some blankets and some quiet music playing seem to be all we need.

Another sailing adventure begins.

That sounds like a very happy beginning to the Memorial Day weekend. Thank you is too small a word for the many who serve our country. But thank you just the same.
