Does anyone know how tall I need to build my boathouse to accommodate a 23II on a magic tilt trailer?
In other words, how tall is a 23 sitting on a trailer?

NateD

My 1991 sitting on the factory trailer with 13" wheels, with the mast resting on top of the bow pulpit was 11' tall I believe. It made it through as 12' overhead door just fine.

First things first: Welcome to the site, InBelize. Are you really in Belize or do you just wish to be there?
Second: I'll measure my 23 tomorrow when I go over to work on her. She sits on a LoadRite trailer with 15 inch wheels. I'm gonna guess and say 9 feet 8 inches from the ground. Tomorrow we'll see how close I was in my guess.
Again, welcome!

Yep retired and living in Belize. In Consejo Shores which is on Chetumal Bay which is the Caribbean sea. My boat is still in Ohio though and before shipping it down I am building a place to keep her when she's out of the water.

I make a motion that the next International CPYOA gathering be held at InBelize's place. All in favor, say aye!

I second the motion with another "Aye".

Spent the morning doing some final prep to splash WindRush this coming week and had the opportunity to make the "height on trailer" measurement.  The trailer is one of the old Performance trailers with 13-inch wheels.  Height to the top of the bow pulpit was 9' 3".  The mast is still laid down in a wooden cradle which puts it beneath the top of the bow pulpit so the mast is well within the 9' 3".  At the stern, the mast rests in a crutch that extends a foot or more above the stern rail but even so the very top of the whole assembly (trailer, boat, crutch and mast) was only 9' 10".  So 12' clearance is more than enough to keep everything out of trouble, even with larger tires.

Mine is just under 9 feet to the bow rail.

Thanks for the info everyone.
Come on down! Just be sure to bring your shoal draft with you as the bay is very shallow near shore :)
