I have made a living for the last three decades doing graphics, video, and museum exhibits... so it's kind of second nature to me... (the communications thing)  but I have ALWAYS enjoyed playing with engineering solutions and making stuff to work elegantly and simply.
I have a project recently completed where I made a "mini bimini" and mounted it without drilling a single new hole in the boat.
Tonight I'm posting a new Mast Foot I made to get a little more adjustment from my rigging... (it also doesn't stay wet like the wood one from the PO)

That is an elegant piece of plastic you made.  Now I am curious if my boat is suppossed to have something there.  I just have a stainless bracket mounted to the cabin top, the mast sits on it and is attached with a single bolt.  Is there supposed to be a piece of plywood, or something or was this a retro fit by the PO?

Mine did come with the plywood foot (from the PO)... but the new one does something else... it centers the mast laterally.. there was a bit of play side to side even with the old foot... not anymore.. in addition.. the vang swivel is much more solidly tied in as illustrated in the following pic... (this was the one missing from the earlier post)

The boat holds a course now with the tiller tied off dead center, and has a very very slight pressure to head up... which is a good thing... but nothing like the posts I read about "fighting the tiller"...  Went out Sunday... cool even breeze from 10 - 12 kts... had the 155 and FB main... it was difficult to make myself come in at sunset...

Dale,  The photos are Masterfully done. Unfortunately, I can't take advantage of them as yet, (boat is still in winter storage). However, I've formulated a lot of ideas on this project --still need to order some parts. Stay tuned. Once again, thanks for all your input. Ken
