along the docks the wind is finger stinging bitter cold with light rain blowing.
in two hours the rain will turn to snow.
miss sara is tied snug against her dock bumpers.

the cabin is cold and there is a little rain drip on the port sleeping bag.
with the cabin shut up it almost comfortable.
two beeswax candles lights her surfaces and begins to heat the air.

the butane stove heats the coffee water and the air.
cheery morning coffee. turn on the radio
start to cut up stuff for the omlet in the ship's pan.

cook the omlet and eat it with a plastic spoon to save the pan bottom.
what is better than hazelnut coffee and a cream cheese omlet in a beautiful sailboat.
not many things.

wash the pan and utinsils in the lake with a plastic brush.
think about how to seal up the port side leak
mother nature has smiled on me. 8-)

Thanks.  I'm trying to keep the boat in the water and ready for the quick pop in to cook a meal, take a nap,  work on writing, or sail around the lake and anchor overnight.  The goal is to be out sailing every week this winter, but I'm not quite making that.

Last winter it stayed pretty warm and there was a big turtle out swimming around in January if I remember right.  We have had loons down here too for the last few years  and other water birds that are acitive all winter.
