I smell rematch!
I just got racing bottom paint for the Walker Bay 8 so I'm thinking of naming the boat "Bye, Mike!" Of course, transom lettering would only be appropriate. The WB8 is infamous....just ask Marty or JT!
It is true that Mike Greene won by default and if I remember correctly, I owe him a bottle of Drambuie! An empty bottle!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!

as i said before the dates dont matter too much to us. as usual i spoke too soon. sarah says we have to wait and hear when her nephew is getting married before we can commit to the dates. as you can tell i care very little about attending a wedding. one of those was more than enough. i will post something as soon as i know for sure. be after the first of the year for sure. if the wedding coincides with the clr i suppose i could sail alone unless someone has a hot sister.

Ok Bob, now you have the dates.  I officially challenge you to a dinghy rowing race rematch.   I wager one bottle of Drambuie and a Spotted Cow beer to your Jose Cuervo Reserve and Guiness.

C'mon down to CLR 2013 so we can finally meet.

You know...I'm thinking about it but I've been reluctant to say that because I've thought about it for the last 3 years! For sure, thinking isn't gonna get that Drambuie- it's gonna take action, training and a heeping helping of luck!
So much can change in 6 months...heck so much has changed in the last 2 weeks. I had the unfortunate job of putting my mom in a nursing home this past Wednesday. She wasn't fully agreeable, but hasn't recovered 100% from a broken ankle in September. Although there really was no other choice, it is gut wrenching beyond what I expected.
This has nothing to do with CLR 2013. I should just throw all reason to the wind and go. If all goes well, I'll be adding another steed to my rowing fleet this coming week. More to come.
Thanks for the standing invite. I've been reading this thread since it started. What better way to celebrate the non-ending of the world today?

I know I'm asking a question that has been answered many times before, but is there a marina with travel lift service at Carlyle Lake?
Bob23

MacGyver

We have a lift that enters the water via a rail system, we handle boats on that up to around 36 feet in length depending on weight.

We do have a travel lift, Acme Hoist, 20 ton plus model, but do not utilize traditional means of launching and pulling due to it being a flood control lake, and our marina layout, it just isnt suitable for us at our marina.

Keyesport Marina has a well that they use their setup on, a lift like our Acme Hoist, but the position of their marina gives them the option to use such a setup.

The marina I work at is the marina that CLR is conducted out of  ;D

As a new compac 16 owner (bought the boat last month up in Adair,IL) the CLR sounds like a good time. Please keep the info coming on details. I have never sailed at Carlyle before so I would need some info on launching spots..... I live in St Charles, MO

kickingbug1

hey st charles. i think salty 19, a long time clr sailor has all the details. however if you want to contact me directly my phone number is (618) 588-3889 my e mail is fordtruck52@yahoo. when the weather breaks and sailing is an option maybe you would want to come over and hit the lake with me. i have made some new improvements to my furler and cant wait to try it out. as regarding the clr. its a laidback get together with a bunch of great people sailing wonderful boats on a great sailing lake. you will absolutely have a great time.

Hi,   I've noted the Sailing Event being held at Carlyle Lake, and all the information about it on Wooden Boat Forum (another web site)....   However, via this msg thread, I have noted that there is confusion as to the dates for when the sail event will be held.   The last msg thread on this topic was posted in January 2013...    This is early June 2013,...  It's time to close up the details of the dates for the Carlyle Lake sail event, along with any other details that may have changed...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this was done long ago. 7/11-7/15/2013? Am I right, mates?

As far as I can remember it was solidified about 2 months ago....

Atleast that is how long ago my wife and I put in for vacation, which was like the day after the green light on the dates
