I just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I purchased an '87 CP 16/2 in August from the Sailboat Company in Richlands, NC. The owner was a great help in feeding my large appetite for information. I greatly appreciate all of his e-mail correspondance. He answered a multitude of questions even before he knew I was seriously interested in buying. He also has a website with a lot of info on sailing and compac yachts.

This is the first boat I have had in about 20 years. I missed sailing immensely and am thrilled to be back on the water again. My 10 year old son's desire to learn was the "straw that finally broke the camel's back". (Don't tell my wife I referred to her as a camel or I might be beached again. hehehe).

I have enjoyed reading the posts and look forward to interacting with the group.

Thanks,

R. Canterbury,  Boone NC

Congratulations on the 16.  Great choice, of course we may be a bit biased in this forum.  :)  I don't think you could have picked a better boat to show your son the ropes.

BTW-  What a great place to live.  I visited there many years ago- hope to make it back one of these days.
