I am planning to build a scale model of my 16 and have been told by Compac that there are no line drawings for this model. Does anyone out there have any plans? help appreciated........

Find a silhouette, front and rear view drawing of a CP-16 on the net or in a book.
Print these and take a known measured distance of something on the copied drawing, say diameter of a porthole, length of cockpit combing. Heck the length of the hull will do as well.
Interpolate that dimension and apply that to the size of the line drawing you want to make your model to.

At most art supply shops [two in little 'O Sturgeon Bay] one can buy a $10 device having a inner and outer spin-to-mark scale that gives you the percent of enlargement necessary to build the model.  Poke that % into a copy machine to make the full sized model drawings. Big models will require taping the copy paper together. At that point a tracing onto a sheet of vellum is easily done. Blueprints can be run off from that.

No I have nothing for a CP-16. Sorry. But then a gain I had nothing for a CP-19 till I made some.

I have scale line drawings rolled up on vellum of a CP-19 that will yield a model with a 2 foot long hull, and from waterline to top'O mast of 25 foot when scaled.

Molding Small Rubber Parts??? From the Ahooga Ford Model 'A' site we have this interesting discussion. I thought I'd post it as it also dives in making rubber parts for restoring outboard motors. I don't know, maybe one can dig these up for their own pleasure.

A few years ago I saw where someone (I think it might have been Bob Johnson) made his own fabric reinforced rubber strip for the steering column. At some point I'd also like to make a few for my Model A's, but my immediate desire is to make a few small rubber cones that push on the end of the propeller of my 1955 Evinrude 7 1/2 H.P. outboard.
Does anyone know what I would use to do this? Can I make a mold from plaster of paris? What is used for the rubber? Thanks

MacGyver

I had to figure out some figures for my lazy jacks and using my knowledge from my graphics company days I had my wife take several pictures from straight on angles with sails up and was able to diagram out the boat and such from that using real life measurements.

It takes some time, and like the stuff skip said, having measurements that are known, like portholes, etc, you can really narrow it down.

I hope to find some already made for the 19 sometime, or I will make my own so I can design custom striping and such for the boat and other doodads that we work on.

It would be neat to make a mini replica of it as well..... :D

I remembered coming across this stuff some time ago while researching the ComPac 16:

The centerboard model, but nonetheless, perhaps they may have something?

Thanks for all your suggestions. I will plan to create my own lines drawings from photos.
