We are going camping with some extended family on Raystown Lake in central Pa this August, I haven't found much info about anyone sailing a sailboat there...  The park service lists it for sailing, but I'm surprised I can't find much info?  We weren't planning on taking a boat originally, just our camper, but since we were given the CP-16, I'm toying with the idea of taking it along as well.  My hesitation is I know it's a popular jet ski and power boat lake, so I'm curious if this is a bad idea...

So we finally made it out to Raystown Lake, in central Pa.   Unfortunately, we left the boat at home...  Absolutely beautiful lake with nice clear water.  Friday and Saturday the campground and lake were packed.  Lots of powerboat and jet ski traffic on Saturday, would have been insane out on the water.  Sunday the park cleared out, and there was noticeably less traffic on the lake, we could have easily sailed Sunday.  Monday the place was pretty empty and we could have sailed no problem.  I spoke with one of the park rangers, and he told me they do get a few sailboats but that he would recommend coming during the week, or on a weekend in the spring and fall when there is much less boat traffic to contend with.  We really enjoyed the park, and the campground facilities were pretty nice.  I think i may try a fall sailing trip, the scenery is beautiful with the mountains surrounding the lake.  I would definitely consider doing a midweek camping/sailing trip next summer, I think I'd arrive on Sunday afternoon and sail early in the week, the park just wasn't as busy.  The family had a blast swimming, and they had some giant floating trampolines that you could pay $1/five minutes or $5/thirty minutes per person, it was a blast!!!  My kids can't wait to go back again!  Just thought I'd post up what I had found out.
