A total loss.  But I have a one year old trailer , custom built, to sell and a one year old custom winter cover to sell.   I have assorted  items that can be salvaged  such as a custom outboard mount, steering wheel,  mast, and so on.

Bob:
Why don't you salvage the boat? Is it repairable? Are you willing to sell it "as is"?

Bob,

Really sorry to learn about the loss of your boat. Hopefully, it was insured and no one was injured.

Sunk! That's how dad got his Star Boat. The former skipper let her sink off the mouth of Belmont Harbor in Chicago.

Dad called up the Harbor Master, Otto, " Otto this is Weis. Find a diver, find a barge, find a crane, and find that Star Boat, find it's trailer and let me know when I can come down to the harbor and look at my new boat."

Dad always believed things were simple.  So how did this boat sink? A hole below the waterline? A mammoth wave? A slow sweep? Too much rum? Target practice? Hard aground with the tide coming in? It rained. A lot!

Sorry to hear this. Like the others have said can you share a little more info?

I can imagin this subject might be too painfull for the owner to discuss right now or perhaps legal actions prevent the owner from making any comments..................May be later.

In any case, we can only wish him the best.

Thanks for your concern..   We had a severe windstorm in Milwaukee  with sustained winds 40 to 50 for 48 hours.  I think it was the mooring buoy that failed.  A number of other boats were lost .

It was all insured.   I still have a custom trailer (CP25)  and a custom winter cover  to sell---both used for only one season.  phone  414 289-9200
