Has anyone sailed on Lake Juliette near Forsyth, GA (south of Atlanta and north of Macon)?  We thought about trying the Picnic Cat on it this autumn.  Does anyone have a favorite lake within about an hour of south Atlanta/north Macon?  Thanks!

Haven't sailed it myself, but we drove around Lake Sinclair and thought it looked very sail-friendly.

Have never been there but if you try it out, give us a report.  My wife's family is originally from Forsyth (paternal) and Griffin (maternal). There are still a couple of folks there we visit occasionally.

Will do.  Lake Juliette appears sail-friendly (outboards are limited to 25 hp and no jet skis), but all my wife and I have done so far is drive through one of the two launching areas maintained by Georgia Power.  Our small home lake will be drawn down this October for ramp and dock repair, so we're looking for another lake or two close to home.

Thanks.  I've heard good things about Lake Sinclair, but so far have been too lazy to trailer over there.  The ramp for our small home lake is literally across the street from our driveway, so the easy option is always to trundle across the street and be sailing in about 5 minutes.  Having a Picnic Cat makes it even easier.  I hope to get motivated to try other lakes this autumn, though.
