The Beagle II is for sale. She is a 1990 Compac 27 MKII that received little use from the original owner of twenty years- an elderly retired woman and casual sailor. The boat never went more than ten miles from the slip at Mariner's Marina in Barnegat Bay. I bought the boat from her estate in late 2009. I renamed the boat after the prior Beagle- a Compac 19- but have not put the new name on the vessel. I've had little time to put more hours on the vessel, hence the sale.
The boat is in excellent condition, with a little over four hundred hours on the Universal M2-12 diesel. All control lines are run aft, and the new mainsail is tamed with lazy jacks and a new lazy bag (like a MackPack) system, so sail stowage is a snap. The 135 genoa is on an Isofurl roller furler and is in excellent condition. All canvas is fairly new and consists of bimini, dodger, fill-in piece, full helm cover, padded cover for dodger windows, grab rail covers, and cover for furled bimini. All the canvas is light tan Sunbrella. Included are full length cockpit cushions and a helm seat cushion. A new fifteen gallon polypro holding tank replaced the tiny seven gallon aluminum tank, and the rot prone front water tank was converted to a thirty six gallon triangular flexible tank with removable wooden cover under the vee berth cushions. The fuel tank was removed and flushed and all filters were changed. A new Xantrex multistage smart charger was recently added, and a Guest Systems Voltage Scanner keeps tabs on battery state. Pressure hot and cold water to the galley, head, and cockpit shower is via engine heat or electric water heater. A Hella two speed turbo fan ventilates the vee berth area, or can be rotated to service the salon. Instrumentation consists of Speed and Depth at the helm, Autopilot, VHF, W&P time and tide clock, and Garmin chart plotter. Wind direction is via Windex at masthead. Anchoring is brought to you by CQR, forty feet of chain, and appropriate rode. All of the round plastic interior lights were replaced with nicer brass fixtures and a brass oil lamp, and a light was added to the engine compartment.
The boat can be seen at my dock in Forked River, NJ and is  $22,500. I can deliver the boat to the Chesapeake.
